Yeah, I forgot about the Walther HP and P-38. So this takedown method is 1930s tech, anyway.I'm guessing Carl Walther originated it.
Agreed, drop magazine... use 1 finger to flip lever forward, tilt pistol down, slide assembly falls off.The old Star Modelo Super has the same kind of takedown latch. I think Star may have originated it, but I can't say for sure.
Yes, it's a slight risk. But I think it's a much bigger risk to unwittingly field strip a loaded gun. When I originally chose XDm over XD/Glock, it was because I didn't have to pull the trigger prior to break down. I considered it a safety risk. Slight risk, but a risk nonetheless.
I can detail strip and reassemble my Glock with one hand and a surface to work on. Well, all except for getting the captive spring off the striker and removing the takedown lever (actually, I've never removed the takedown lever. Dunno how to do that, to be honest).I can field strip my 92FS one-handed.
Getting it back together requires 2 hands.
Yeah, it's almost like watching a YouTube video by a rookie who makes coins for clicks.Sure, and we all know how Hollywood provides us excellent firearm training
you nailed it! im starting to be a huge sig fanI think it's no easier than my Sigs. And the Sig is by far a better pistol. ~
