Ed Brown or Nighthawk

And, finally, both is not an option. Though I've considered it.

“Both” isn’t just an option, it’s the only correct answer to these questions.

It eliminates the possibility for regret, which anyone would tell you is something we all should endeavor to avoid.

Derek, you strike me as a man of action. Trading a small hand-full of paper, plus offloading a giant bag full of potential remorse and getting two superb custom pistols in return seems like the right thing to do.

Correction, It seems like the ONLY thing to do.

Welp, it came in. And this thing is ridiculous. I was just giggling through the few mags I put through it (mixed super-cheap 230gr ball - I think one of the mags has been loaded 10 years because it was a weird off-brand - and 230gr HSTs.)

The RMRcc came dialed in, and it was just dead on and it felt like it was impossible to miss. I shot center mass on a steel silhouette from 7 yards, couldn't figure out where I'd aimed at so I just aimed at the impact mark, and the rest of the mag just stacked there with all rounds touching.

Dueling tree? 45ACP is a whole lot more fun than 9mm, and I'm starting to adjust to these red dots so everything was fast and accurate. Typically with irons I miss a couple (especially with the low ones) because my sights aren't really in focus like I'd want - no problem with the red dot. In fact I think every popper was center punched every time. Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping. Consistent and just fun.

Fast, accurate, recoil is as it should be in a steel frame.

My only gripe: the recoil spring is on the strong side. This choice of springs meant my 230gr all fed fine, and if I load some of that Winchester +p T-Series which is stout it'll probably be no issue at all with the sturdy spring. But I'd started to get into the habit of not racking the slide on reload like they teach at Gunsite and instead I'd been just using the slide release with my other 1911s. Doing so here required a lot more force than I expected, and the round I tried to load from the mag didn't load fully. Trying again and racking the slide to the rear worked perfectly - just like they warned us about at Gunsite.

Anyway, I'm pretty darn happy with this thing right now. Can't wait to take it for a real range session next week.
