i tried it and to be honest wasnt impressed. When i clean im looking not only to get the carbon fouling out which by the way eds does well at but also the copper fouling and eds red isnt the ticket for that.
As mentioned Ed's Red will clean the carbon build up, but it is not a copper or lead cleaner specifically. Cleaners that are designed to remove copper chemically contain ammonia those that remove lead contain aluminum ethoxylate. Most gun cleaners are just expensive penetrating oils that require elbow grease to remove metal residue, there is nothing wrong with it and is what I prefer but I shoot mostly lead which easier to remove manually than copper.
