I'm looking for some opinions from users of Eezox or any similar dry lubricants--how they perform, what you like/don't like, that sort of thing.

The reason is that I have bought some and just tried it on a pistol. Used it as much per the instructions as I can. It seems to clean well, but how is it as a lubricant? I'd hate to find out bad news the hard way.

I grew up (so to speak) on Hoppes #9 and gun oil, and this just feels all wrong. I know the gun isn't supposed to be gooped up with lube, but a totally dry lubricant? Feels scary...

Good stuff. Better than CLP by a long shot. I had to switch back to CLP because I could not find the stuff anymore. Anyone know of a reliable place to get some?

I think it's one of the best cleaners, but I've found it to be absolutely terrible as a lubricant.

It's a great cleaner. And a very good rust preventative. The only caveat is that you if use it indoors you must have very good ventilation. I use it mostly for my blued guns but for the stainless ones I just use FP-10 which is more indoor-friendly.

My preference...

...is to use it as the first protective step after a very thorough cleaning/strip using Simple Green. I don't use it all that often and prefer FP-10 for general CLP application. (Blue Wonder and MPro-7 are also personally preferred cleaners.)

As was mentioned before, USE PLENTY OF VENTILATION (a small fan moving air across the work area is good) when you do use it and be sure to let the EEZOX cure between applications. I will then use the FP-10 for overall lube/protection and/or Gun Juice in specific areas for the follow-on treatments.

It's good stuff and an essential component on my bench, but is not an all-in-one solution in my view.
