Effingham County in Illinois is now a sanctuary city for gun owners

Do I see the start of the "silent majority" starting to step forward? Effingham County I'm proud of the fact that you step forward and say that you are American and that you support OUR 2nd Admendment. Too bad that many on Capital Hill have sworn to do so DON'T. But then again IMHO these Capital Hill ***s (eating from the largest trough in history) are not really Americans but some hybrid breed of who knows what?

I grew up outside of DC and worked in the swamp too long.
It’s much worse than people outside of DC could ever imagine.

The staffers act like royalty. And I won’t even go into how our PUBLIC SERVANTS think they’re the ruling class and royalty.

And your last point. Many don’t see themselves as Americans, but as “Global Citizens”

Does the author of the article realize she sounds like an idiot by continuously referring to the county as a city? The county officials are repeatedly qouted as saying county but the author repeatedly uses the term city. Sorry for the rant...

Read it again

Read what again? All the county officials call it a sanctuary county. Many other articles refer to it as a sanctuary county. It was a county vote. Do people not understand the difference between a city and county?

Great example of the way screwing with the law can come around and bite you in the behind. One wing of the political spectrum thought asylum cities for toxic invaders were cute, so now people on the other wing think it's okay to ignore the [admittedly oppressive] gun laws of their state. Now which side has moral authority? Perhaps neither.

The law can be annoying, but it's actually pretty important, and we have to be careful about the laws we choose to "work around."

I say that as I look for a loophole to permit me to annihilate blueberry-eating squirrels out of season.

I wouldn't leave peanut butter under the handle of an inexpensive plastic box, that I didn't buy, just to have "evidence" the little pests are wrecking stuff, despite my constant "live trapping and release" program. I am sure the DNR will understand and issue a pest eradication permit. ;)

Traps get rusty, so do shooting skills. One stone, two birds...:)

(psst! Three Ss. Shoot, shovel and shh...)

Believe it or not, the Florida Fish and Wildlife people told me I had the go-ahead to kill all sorts of nuisance critters on my own property. You can even kill foxes, which are practically sacred in Florida. Today I set a blind up beside the house. We'll see who gets the next crop of berries.
