If the EMP were priced more in the $600-750 range, I'd seriously consider it. What I like about the design:
• It's smaller overall in dimension than a similar 9mm 1911 "officer" model from someone like Kimber
• It retains all the basic essential 1911 attributes - thumb safety, single-action -only, single stack magazine, thin profile, etc.
• It's got the Springfield name on it, so you know it's well made and will most likely hold it's value, plus they do the 1911 pretty well, IMO
• With ultra-thin grip panels on it, I think it would be a great IWB CCW that is a perfect compromise between comfort (it's thin and relatively light), accuracy (single-action-only, 1911 trigger), firepower (9+1 capacity), and effective caliber (9mm, 9mm+P)
Too bad it's so dang expensive!
