Recently I aquired a #1MK4 that had been partialy sporterized already. So far I have chopped the barrel to 19.5in (thats where the bore became clean and brite), refaced the muzzle and recrowned, sand blasted and applied some flat OD guncoat. I'm loving the progress so far and cant wait to shoot it. Next problem is sighting. Idealy I would like to reinstall the rear sight, but I dont know what to do about a front sight (maybe some sort of retrofitted levergun ramp and bead?) The easiest and most realistic solution would be a scope. I cant deside between a scout or traditional mount. The scout idea lets me use stripper clips and preserves the natural ballance point, but a regular scope gives me more magnification and ease of use...I have always had trouble with off-axis blackout w/ long ER scopes)
help?

The ATI scope mount for the Lee Enfield works very well. It replaces the rear sight and clamps down over the charger bridge.

That should be a handy little carbine! That's pretty neat. My father in law's rifle has the no gunsmith ATI but it took two attempts at mounting to get it to hold zero. She now works but what a PITA! Get a good mount and drill and tap. I like the military sniper style mounts.

I'd throw a ramp and front sight on. Marbles, Williams, NECG...Brockman's even has one with wings that could be adapted to it. It just oopen up the rear peep a little to ghost ring proportions and make it a handy brush gun. If you go with a traditional scope mount, don't waste the time or money installing a front sight, as you'll never be able to use it. My eyes are good so a scope is not mandatory for me at up to 100 yards, even though where I hunt it is thick and having a low magnification helps with telling doe from buck, and with making it a one plane afair for speed. I wouldn't go over 3x for the rifle.

If you need a rock solid steel mount I highly recommend the sk. Brownell's has them for about $65. They are rock solid and hold their zero. I mounted a cheap bsa 1.5x5 scope and can't be happier with the setup. It's deadly on hogs.
