This setup installed on a SIG 556: Does the magnifier when on the side catch the ejected brass or the brass avoid it when ejected?

Don't know that anyone here has that setup. My 556 throws most of the brass forward and I haven't shot it with a magnifier installed. I hate to send you to a different forum, but check out the 556 forum, someone there will probably know. It is http://sigarms556.com/

What TimL said -- the 556 mostly throws brass forward when it cycles, so I don't think it would be a problem in that respect.

Try working the controls with the weapon unloaded, though -- I think having the magnifier leaned over on the same side as the charging handle would get in the way of quickly running the charging handle.

Maybe because those optics cost hundreds of dollars. Don't be a jerk. He asked a valid question and doesn't deserve a stuck-up, snobby response.

ETA:

To the OP, if you use the mount backwards, so that the magnifier flips to the other side, it won't be a problem.
