Guys, this is My latest design, a 4" blade woods knife I call the Etowah.
It will be available in 80CRV2 high carbon steel, CPM 154 stainless and CPM Magnacut.
This one is going out to a magazine knife reviewer for testing.
It is in Magnacut with cryo treatment, a hard and tough blade.
20 LPI thumb jimping, fully contoured black canvas micarta handle scales and stainless lanyard tube.
thoughts?

How do you like the Magnacut when you field tested it?
I used my prototypes for camp chores, batoning small rounds, food prep and some chopping.
I also sent 2 knives out to guys to test. (thanks guys)
I find Magnacut holds a great edge for a bit longer than say CPM 154, and other stainless steels like AEBL and S35VN.
Stain resistance was on par with these as well.
Sharpening was no problem using diamond EZ lap and ceramic rods.
So far I am extremely impressed with this steel, I followed Dr. Larrin Thomas (The designer of this steel) heat teatment recipe and it checks out just right on my Rockwell hardness test machine.

What is the purpose of relieving the grip scales at the point where the jimping on the spine is?

Very nice looking blade, sir. I lack almost all knowledge of knife steels, so I will take you at your word about how good it is. I assume you will be offering these for sale some day?
