Euro mounts

Ive allways just buryed the heads. Leave the antlers above ground and then put a bucket or tote over the antlers to keep squirrels and such from havin at them. And pack dirt around the bucket or tote so there not eay to knock off for some browsing critter. Dig it up in couple monthes and the skull will be dirty but clean by the bugs. Let it set somewhere and get good and dry cause it might be little soft from monthes in the ground then you can bleach the skull good to brighten it up if wanted. I like the dirty brown rustic look myself.

I had a rug made from a bear skin. My taxidermist recommended leaving the skull out for a week or so to let fly's lay eggs in the meat. I then buried the skull in a 5 gallon bucket of sand for a month. The maggots picked it clean. Same basic idea as burying the skull in the ground mentioned above

You have to have a strong stomach when it came time to pull the skull out of the bucket, but it required minimal cleaning on my part afterward. Scrubbing with bleach will make it white if you like that.

I have the pencil in the photo to illustrate that if you shoot a bear in the eye the bullet will very likely never hit the brain the way a bear's skull is shaped. I took these photos to illustrate that point for a bear defense thread years ago.

Considering it costs zero dollars and you can get good results I can't see paying someone to do it.
