As the recent owner of a CZ-82, comm. Russian Mak, Bulgy and EG Makarov has inspired me to check into this over interesting Warsaw Pact gun.

How would you generally compare the longer-term reliability/"ruggedness" of the 83 with these other well-known W. Pact types?

I have two. They are built like tanks. Polish guns are typically very well made, and I am sure they will outlast me. I don't know of any weak points.

Extremely durable mechanically, however the finish is not as durable as a Mak PM or p64 (IMO). Also, I noted some parts (hammer spur specifically) were prone to a bit of surface rust. Other than those quibbles, the pistol is - as noted above - a tank.
