This gun overall is very similar to my Rus., Bulgy and EG Makarovs. The CZ-82 is even more unique.

But the P-83 is my first Polish gun (I almost like the 64), and so solid and reliable as the Makarovs.
In addition, the DA trigger is very similar to my excellent EG Mak. Despite the pricey magazines and a long hammer spur, it seems like an excellent gun.

I'd agree, if you like it, do what I did with my Star BM. I bought one to shoot, one for spare parts and one to "collect". They were pretty cheap then $140-200 depending on condition. I shot the medium condition one, set aside the worst and the best for parts and to have for the collection.

I don't shoot it much since I got my 9mm RIA Tactical, but back in the day it scratched my itch for a 9mm 1911.

Its reasonable strategy for guns you like that aren't being made any more.

I commonly buy multiples of surplus guns since they are not being produced any longer. I do it more from a collector/investment standpoint. Not that I ever have any intention to sell any of my guns, but it is nice when I paid $180 for Romanian Tokarevs a year ago and now they're selling for $230 and will only continue to go up in price. You're not going to wish you hadn't bought more surplus pistols, but you could very well wish that you bought more.

go for it. if i like a gun i will buy two of them. when i bought my px4 it performed so well i ordered another one a week later.
