My gunsmith has a sign up in his shop that reads something like this:

I do three kinds of work - fast, cheap, and good. You may pick any two of these.
If you want it fast and cheap, it won't be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it won't be fast.
If you want it fast and good, it won't be cheap.

Yes, I have! :fire: It's when you are tied to the bench with 75 Remington 1100's and Browning A-5's the day before duck opener, because their owners are too short sighted to think about taking them out some time before then to go over them, then the same fine sportsmen come back a month later, a couple days before deer opener wondering why their 742 or Model 100 doesn't fire, gee they just cleaned it about 10 years ago!? :uhoh: These are the same swell guys who decide to take up muzzleloading, come in, pump you for information, (what gun to get, Pyrodex or FFG, etc.) then buy it at Wally World. Surprise, surpise, it didn't go off when 'Ol Mossyhorns was in the sights, and now either you are to blame, and/or they need it fired, cleaned and of course, fiber optic sights pronto! :cuss: Then, after each opener on Monday, It's "Gee, I don't understand why it didn't go off, I've been putting lots of WD-40 in it...." :banghead: Of course, now (Jan 20th) I could do all the extensive work some of these guns needed, but they will sit and quietly rust in their owners' closets until a couple days before next season.... And as for the other side of the equation...I do my own work. :p (usually after the fall rush... :( )

thanks to some help from firethorn,i can now use correct paragraphs.
now my posts will be up to the likeing of my typing teacher that i had 20 years ago.
the grammer and spelling are as good as it gets,if you want to wine about it,feel free to do so but it is not going to get any better.

I try to do as much as I can with my own weapons. I, on occasion, will do work on friend's guns, with them present, for free while I am still learning. I am saving for that 13 X48 lathe with the 2" through bore, and the Bridgeport clone mill, so I can expand my experience base. I do want to eventually build and sell single shot rifles someday... :D

Oh yeah, the gunsmith I go to, when something is beyond me (rare), has always done a good job for me and kept to his schedule. After reading this thread, I consider myself lucky.

...and another thing, Brownell's and Numrich are your friends... :p

Mike
