Shipping Firearms - Fedex lost guns?

So I bought a 92fs inox through my gunsmith last Tuesday. He ordered it from a warehouse of sorts, said it would be in by the end of the week. Let me tell you, those were the longest 3 days of my life. He calls me Friday and says Fedex lost it. Internal issue, gonna get it solved, I'm told maybe the middle of the next week.

Called up today for follow up, and was told it had been shipped across the country. (we're in the midwest) But it should be here by the end of the week. 5 days to get to the midwest shipping fedex ground?

I'm pretty bummed, because I've wanted this for a long time.

Just wondered if this happens more often than not....

Any ideas on how to kill the time? :banghead:

UPS will actually warehouse a ground parcel so that it delivers on the 5th day.

Happens all the time, it's annoying for sure.

In 21 years of receiving guns & returning them via Fedex & UPS, only once did UPS lose a gun.
It can happen with either company, but it it not a regular occurrance with either.

It's also an inconvenience with their hub to hub shipping.

I had a package ship from New York to Ohio.

On its way it went from NY, to PA, to Chicago, back to Ohio. Figure that one out.
