GEORGIA, GO DAWGS!
I got shot in the arm when I was 15(.22r or a .25 acp).It took a few hours of surgery, and 63 external, and 9 internal stitches to fix it. it was a drive by, and got me in the forearm. As I was an idiot at the time, I joined a street gang, and saw a few of my friends shot in front of me. My parents got me out of Chicago before I could get killed, or wind up in jail by moving me to Georgia, where I learned what being a "Man" truly was. I am now 36 years old, and haven't been back to the "hood" since I was 22 yrs. old. Anyways, the question is -Anybody else been shot?

I was once a little kid and shot a baseball with a bb gun, cause I thought the BB would imbed itself in the balls leather (the way it did in my fence from shooting cans). Well... it bounced off and hit me right between the eyes. That was the only time I even did anything stupid with a gun! Glad I learned the easy way as a little unattended kid.
But truth is....I was part of an anti-gun family. My parents didn't know I had the BB gun. borrowed it from my grandpas garage.
No training. Just a kid who was curious!

Parents...talk to your kids about guns...even pellet or BB guns!

Yes- Twice Once with a .22 In my left hip, Under less than "savory" circumstances.(similar to your's. And once with a shotgun,Fortunately from about 60 yards away- I was standing next to the intended target. This time I lost 2 front lower teeth and had 1 pellet in my chin(next to my jawbone).Unbeilveable PAIN!

I haven't been shot but my mom was shot in the shoulder with a dove load. you can still see the pellets under the skin.

yes. it was painful... nothing cool about it. its why i stopped doing what i did, i would rather be poor than dead.

I am grateful that I am not eligible for membership in the "ever been shot or even shot at" club...but you might like perusing this previous thread.

Stay safe.

I wouldn't ask this if you hadn't brought it up, but how much did it hurt (in relation to other things).
well ive broken ribs, torn a rotator cuff, broken my collar bone, shattered toes, broken my arm and wrist... and the only thing that was more painful than being shot... was when i was stabbed.

my little brother was rabbit hunting when we were kids, he wasn't paying attention to what was BEYOND his target and accidently(I think?) shot me in the lower leg. It was just a .22lr but it hurt like all hell.

I just realized how lucky I am. I've never broken a bone. I've never dislocated anything. I've never been punched in the face. I've never taken a sharp kick to the crotch.

Worst pain I've probably felt was when I smacked my head on a table once. I'm guessing that breaking a bone is significantly worse than that?

never been shot, been shot at on a good number of ocasions, once by my grandfather, unintended, was shooting at a deer. All the other times were over in Iraq, mostly just a pot shot here and there, only once was it a good number of rounds, one hitting the turret right next to my head, lol, I'm glad I was a moving target hahaha.

I got a through & through in my shoulder overseas. Burned like hell, but didn't last long. Worst part was the infection that sat in after his AK and ammo sat in the muck.

it all depends on what your doing during the situation. The bones i broke while doing something important... they didnt hurt until a few hours afterwards (adrenaline) my arm (i was young) i went into shock and my wrist (jumped out of a window... landed it somewhat wrong lol. i didnt even realize i broke it until i tried to get up and my hand wouldnt turn.(stupid teenager moment)

Ah, I did something similar to my wrist as a kid, but I didn't break it. The road I live on has a noticeable crack running right down the middle of it, and one day as I was gunning my bike down it, the front tire suddenly got caught in the crack. I went up and over the handlebars, and when I came down, my right wrist caught most of the impact.

It hurt so badly I just lied there, face down on the pavement, cringing and...whimpering, or whatever you want to call it.

I've been in enough pain to invoke tears, and to effectively incapacitate me. Hopefully I never feel much worse. :/

I've been shot, punched in the face more than I can remember, got my nose broke twice, had my hand slashed when confronted by an angry redneck "friend", and threatened many times. I grew up, and have stopped hanging out in places where the bad people go, and I stay at home, or at work, or hunting, or fishing.

I completely separated the top front quarter of my shin from the rest of the bone. It hurt like hell for about a week and still hurts two years later. They had to slice me open and put in three large screws. Good thing is I didn't lose much strength and two years later I am back to deadlifting 505 and squatting 385

When my buddy was in 8th grade, he, my other buddy, and another guy I don't know were tripping acid and Zach, the guy I don't know very well shot a .22lr through a door and it hit my buddy in his shoulder and exited his chest...He didn't like it too much either...That coupled with the fact that he was tripping didn't make for a good time.

I've never been shot, never broke a bone or had to get stitchs. Been hit in the twig and berries a few times, that doesn't feel too good. Being it in the face doesn't hurt too bad...Just pisses me off to the point I return the favor.:p

Well... it bounced off and hit me right between the eyes.

I had a similar experience. Once, when I was a kid, I shot up into a tree at a bird with my Daisy BB gun. BB hit a tree limb and came straight back at me. Hit me in the forehead about an inch above my left eye. Scared the bejeebers out of me.

I really need to talk to Ralphie Parker because it really is possible to shoot your eye out with an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle. Of course, Ralphie wears glasses which offers a little protection.

I dunno. I've never been shot. I have had quite a few serious cuts, including a stabbing-type one, a couple broken fingers, and thirty-some hours' worth of natural childbirth. Worst pain I've ever experienced was when I hit my head on a wood floor.

But it was from a height of about nine feet. Clue: stay *on* the mat when practicing those cool-looking shoulder throws. That was *not* a fun time. I think I lost a few IQ points that night.

Closest I've ever come to getting hit with a projectile from a gun is when I ejected a 20 gauge shell right into my front teeth. Not a hull, but an unfired shell. It required a mirror and several minutes to convince myself I still had my front teeth. That stung.

I've been hit by two ricocheting bullets and neither one penetrated, only bruised.

When we were kids we used to have BB gun fights. One of the kids on the other team thought he was out of sight. I was hiding behind a tree waiting for someone to shoot. The rule was we were supposed to shoot low to try and not put out an eye.

So i shot low. He was wearing a tight pair of blue jeans. I hit him right on the nose cone of his crotch rocket. He let out scream that had to be heard to be believed. He showed us his Dingus and in just a few minutes it turned the most amazing shades of red and purple. The BB gun wars were at an end.
