Ever wonder what happened to the gun you lost through UPS?

It actually can get worse !!

Think about this ( I am !!)

Had some bullets for reloading shipped UPS and
when the package showed up -

Packing Slip normally in the external plastic 'pouch'
was missing !
Pouch had been slit open ! (not torn or stretched open - cut !)
Great, now someone knows
reloading supplies ( return address ) /bullets/address
all of which equals GUNS !

Point is, by knowing where something probably is, no need to smuggle anything out - just go rob at one's convenience -
Might be a bit risky though ;-)

Great, just Great

Gotta find another way of 'getting' this stuff !!

Simple. For a few bucks a year, use UPS against itself.

What used to be Mailboxes USA has been bought up by UPS and they are now UPS Stores. They also rent post boxes. Once you rent one of their post boxes, they will also receive and hold UPS shipments for you, so you can have all your toys sent to a "suite" at a commercial address and nobody can connect it with where you live.

You have to fillout a lengthy form that asks all kind of personel questions and they want a drivers license. Better to go to some Ma and Pa box store with the dumb teenie boper clerk.

Fedex

Fedex is WAY more reliable and secure. but they are more expensive. I use to have a roomate that did Ebay transactionsa and he had over 4200 succussful shipments with Fedex in 2 years.

P.S. I didnt know they had Ma and Pa PO BOX places? what the heck are they?

Nothing new. UPS had the same thing happen years ago in Virginia when the employees were stealing handguns from Interarm's shipments. That's when they mandated the Next Day delivery for handguns.

There was a better write up in the weekend paper. They were targeting packages coming from a local gun distributor. Ellett Bros. in Chapin. About 20 miles from UPS hub. They were also reading lables for guns going back to the mfgr for repairs, or returning. That's how they got a few Glocks. Of all the people that works there, one of them was the truck washers. He would grab the package, drive over to the wash bay and toss the package over the fence on the way over. Someone would be there to intercept the package. They were then fencing them in the upstate and out of state.

Federal Express seems to "lose" fewer packages.
FedEx also seems to hire incompetent drivers - my neighbors get my packages.

The things I've had delivered by UPS probably outnumbers FedEx 10 to 1. When it comes to delivering my shipment to the wrong house, FedEx outnumbers UPS by about 10 to 1.

As a matter of fact, I've only had one FedEx delivery get to my house instead of someone else's. Technicly, it wasnt delivered to my house. I met the driver in my neighbor's yard and pointed out my house number.
