I sold my AR, decided it just wasn't me, and bought a nice non threatening wood and steel Mini-14 a few months ago.
One of the criticisms of that gun is the high cost of factory magazines, and the problems with aftermarket versions. Did some research and found the Tapco 30 rounders generally had good reviews. At less than half the price of factory, I decided to buy a couple. I have a Tapco 20 round removeable magazine in my SKS and it has worked perfectly for several years now.
The Tapco Mini-14 mags worked well, as good as the factory 5 rounders the rifle came with.
However, when I went to reload them the other day, once fully loaded, rounds started popping back out of one of the mags.. First one round, then a few seconds later, two or three more. Not good.
Tapco guarantees all of their products for life, so I gave them a call. I was expecting the usual "it's not our fault, you must have done something..." Didn't happen. Their customer service rep listened, then asked me for my mailing info. Said those mags for the Mini-14 are currently out of stock, but that I will be receiving two mags in the mail in the near future.
In this throw away era of generally poor customer service, it was refreshing dealing with a company like Tapco.
