After the range session this morning the wife and I made the stops at the gun/pawn shops. The first stop yielded a 19-3 S&W for $439. For that price it was rusting through the nickel finish. With my propensity to shoot heavy .357 mag loads a lot, I passed on it. The second stop however was more productive. There in the case was a 1985 vintage stainless Security Six with a 6in barrel for $399. My heart and my wallet jumped out simultaneously. Unfortunately my wallet was a little short so I had to put it in jail. I have till DEC. 24 to free it. I better leave extra cookies for Mrs. Claus this year.

The Ruger was the better buy
What was it? Stainless? 2 3/4, 4 or 6 inch?

Hope you post some pictures when you get it

Nice! I need to do some pawn shopping as soon as I’m off new gun restriction.

We had some bills to deal with last month ($2,400 for the car was the biggest) so I am holding off on buying another one for a bit.

Hopefully it shoots perfectly for you when you finally get it home ,

I have added three Rugers to the collection out of the last four guns I have purchased; an LCP II, a PC 9 and an American Rimfire .22 WMR...

I really like Ruger firearms myself!

Stay safe!

Darn those stainless Ruger revolvers!

I have been unable to work since the end of June while recovering from a pair of total knee replacements (1st on July 2 and 2nd on Sept.10) and that can be tough for a self-employed small businessman with no employees. It will probably be mid to late November before the auto repair side of the shop generates any income, and the 'by appointment only' gun sales and transfers during the recovery have been slim, so there simply is not much money available at this time.

Then ... I got a closeout e-mail advert from Davidson's that included a Stainless Steel / Rosewood Grips Ruger Blackhawk SA Revolver chambered in .45 Colt for about $100 off! They showed 18 in stock Friday and after much conflicted thought I could not let it go and bought three of them early Saturday morning: one for me and two to sell. It was tough spending the last of my reserve capital, and also a bummer that I could not afford to buy five or six of them. In effect, I was robbed of a good night's sleep by a Stainless Ruger Revolver.

I have never seen a Ruger Security Six 'for sale' in the wild, but if I ever do, it will be pretty hard to pass it up.

Sounds like an early Merry Christmas is in order! Great find with the Security Six!

Hi...
I must be slipping a bit here lately.
I have only bought one Ruger in the last year or so. It is a nice one though...a BlackHawk in .41Mag, blued with a 4-5/8" barrel.
I have bought a couple of Cimarron revolvers though along with a couple of Sako rifles and an Interarms Mannlicher stocked rifle.
I just haven't seen very many good deals on Ruger lately, other than .357s and I have three Rugers in that chambering already.

Stainless Rugers are a thing of beauty. My previous acquisition is a blued 1980 Super Blackhawk while not stainless I couldn’t pass it up at $325. It did need some finish work.

PS. I hope the auto repair picks up for you. It’s too easy nowadays to finance a new car than to repair. That is the main reason I made the plunge into heavy truck repair. The owners need the trucks rolling and they have the money to fix them.

That Blackhawk is a nice revolver, especially stoked with .41 Spl. or downloaded .41 Mags. Easy shooting and fun plinking!

The Mannlicher style is one of my favs, ever since if I can stumble on a well-priced CZ it just may follow me home.

Stay safe!

Well here it is. Took it to the range yesterday. It shoots left. Tried to adjust the rear sight but it wouldn’t move. The adjustment screw would just back out. Got it home and cleaned the internals of the rear sight and it now adjusts. Taking to the in-laws to sight it in. Not a fan of the grips so a Hogue monogrip is in the future (all my other Rugers sport Hogue grips.)
