Another interesting ASM product with a Colt Barrel address.
I wish that the date code had not been obliterated so that I could put it into the correct chronology with the others in my collection.
My ASM 3rd Model with Colt address is marked "AD" but, unlike the originals and unlike my ASM 2nd Model, it is addressed on the ROUND part of the barrel.
I wonder if some marketing executive in ASM saw that the sight addition messed up the Colt Address on the top flat and insisted that it be moved to a location where it could be read in its entirety.
Another disfiguration, that I noticed on the GB one, is the front of the trigger guard.
It seems to be much thinner than the section around the trigger.
The screw stands proud and is in very good shape.
If that screw had stuck out like the stock screws (as Jim mentioned earlier) for 160 or so years, I would think that they all would be as beat up as the rest of the gun.
