I think I am able to get both a AK and a SKS!!! Now the SKS I am picking up from a local gunshop, but the AK i am thinking of getting from "Classic Firearm INC." So my question is... should I get the AK with:

A BAYONET LUG, RUSSIAN WIRE CUTTER BAYONET W/ SHEATH, AND FROG A CANVAS MAG POUCH, MOUNTED 45 DEGREE COMPENSATOR, 2 30 RD MAGS SLING, CLEANING KIT , OILER AND MANUAL. A TEST TARGET IS ALSO ENCLOSED W / EACH RIFLE.
for $329.95

or

with out the bayonet lug and bayonett, mounted compensator for $279.95
?????
Which is a better deal?

I just bought an SKS, I really like it. The grenade launcher, sights, and bayonet may not have a real place, but they look cool and make a great conversation starter. I just recently had a problem with mine, the cut-off switch to the gas function was acting up so I took it in, probably get it back in a week or so. However, it fires wonderfully and looks great, I couldn't be happier.

I've shot an AK before, they are cool. I think both is the way to go :neener:

Get it with the bayo lug. You're unlikely to ever need it, but ten years down the line when AWB II is passed and permanent you'll appreciate the "just 'cuz" factor of the feature.

go with the sks, look for a norinco or russian, alittle more expensive than a yugo, but should go up in value over time. sold my AK, just did not fit me and bought a AR-15 for plinking.

I dont really care about a bayo lug, but the threaded muzzle and slant brake are worth it.

To me (may get some nasty replies) the SKS is an outdated piece of old junk. Go for the combat rifle. The AK.

outdated firearms

man there's alot of outdated firearms out there that still work great . i have 5 sks's and 4 ak's i dont see no big difference in them .all of them work great id go with chinese on the sks or the ak

Well.... yeah. Of course.

Because when you're spending all of your time in combat, nothing else will do.

Just out of curiosity, how is the SKS.. ignoring the piece of old junk concept... outdated?

I suppose I should get rid of my totally reliable, surprisingly accurate, fun to shoot, way more comfortable than the run of the mill AK, outdated piece of old junk Norinco SKS and get me a real combat rifle.... Yeehaw!

By the way, none of this was typed with the least bit of nasty attitude.

If you shop around for clean, used guns or can figure out how to build your own AK from a parts kit, you can have BOTH the SKS and AK for around $400.

Yugo SKS rifles are cheap, I think mine was $100

To build an AK, you are looking at $150-$250 for a parts kit, about $50 for US compliance parts, and around $50 for a purchased reciever. (shopping around helps here)

7.62x39 ammo is getting scarce becasue of government purchases, so buy it by the case when you see it on sale!

I would go with the SKS, in fact I did. I have 2 Yugo's and a Norinco. I like the Norinco best. There are also many variations of the SKS out there.
