I have a Nikon Monarch 3 on a Savage model 110 . 270 win and a model 11 7mm RM, both Savages. The 7mm bdc scope works perfect. No signs of what I call 'tunnel vision' when I draw it to my shoulder to shoot. The .270, on the other hand, has a dark tunnel around it until I keep moving around until I can finally get it to focus. I've tried everything, and nobody seems to be able to help me. Any thoughts? I thought about switching scopes, but I am at a loss for why I have so much trouble with focus and the ability to have a full field of view. Thanks.

Try this first. Close your eyes and shoulder your ''UNLOADED'' rifle and get a good cheek weld that is comfortable to you. When you have achieved the cheek weld you like open your eyes. Is your eye in alignment with the center of your scope? If you have to tilt your chin up the rings on your scope are too high. If you have to tilt your chin down your rings are too low. Also to get your full field of view try mounting scope further away from you or closer to you. Also when you focus your scope use a background like the sky where you can only see the cross hairs. This will allow you to see if the reticle is sharp or blurry.

You might have better luck under rifles than handguns.... Focus can be adjusted..... Eye relief means your scope may not be mounted properly:

To add to what @ms6852 advises.

Come to think of it, the scope mounts they originally put on that rifle were not the right ones. They were too short, and the bolt could not be removed. Now I am guessing they're too tall, which is causing me problems. It's elevated, so thanks for solving the problem.---I have to tilt my chin up.
