Which CZ 457 factory magazines are better in regard to reliably and feeding, the steel or polymer? I've heard the steel mags sometimes have feeding issues.
Have heard the same thing. All of mine are either 5 or 10 round polymer factory magazines. There are a couple aftermarket Billet magazines on the market that supposedly work great, one is a 13 round, and the other a 15 round mag. But they cost more than my AICS centerfire mag's.
I have a bunch of CZ and BRNO rimfires (they use the same mags) and well more than 10 of each type of magazine, polymer and steel. I can't tell any difference whatsoever in functionality because I've never had one of either style that didn't work flawlessly. I'm a little surprised at myself because I generally don't like plastic stuff on guns, but I slightly prefer shooting with the polymer mags because when fitting the magazine back into the gun and doing it by feel, I am more comfortable moving the polymer mag around on the bottom metal to find the mag well opening than I am doing same with the steel mag (because I am less likely to scratch wood or metal down there when using the polymer mag). I do use metal mags most of the time in the old BRNO guns because it just seem right somehow.
