Fairly rare Smith & Wesson Model 14-7

Range Report:

This one was definitely manufactured as a PPC gun. Shot a mile low. Even with the rear sight cranked up all the way, she still shoots 4” low at 25 yards using Missouri Bullet Company hard cast, heat treated, 158 grain Keith type bullets and 3.5 grains of Bullseye. The good news is that it shot groups of 1” to 1& 1/4” over sand bags at 25 yards.

14-5, lucked out and got it for a little over $300 on GB, I guess because no one knew what it was, including me.
Better lucky than good sometimes. It's a sweet shooter.

Most of the underlug Model 14s were square butt guns like yours. I have never seen one of these with a round butt until I found this one. Mine was set up as a PPC gun. The sights are very high so the gun shoots extremely low, as many people that shoot PPC will use a neck hold on a silhouette target.
