I've come to the point where I'm carrying a lot of items around with me on a regular basis. Cellphone, digital camera, SureFire, Benchmade, car keys, wallet, USB stick.

Anyone know of a good (covert) fanny pack that can also carry a CCW (whenever I get a chance to). If I'm going to buy a fanny pack, might as well get one that can also CCW, even though I won't get a chance to in California.

What types of fastening system would be best for a fanny pack? The normal ones I've seen have a quick-release fastener that might be a liability in case of accidents (kids with busy fingers, snatch-and-go thieves). That, and if you are carrying portable electronics devices and the fanny pack fastener is a quick-release type, you might just see your $400 digital camera bash itself onto the concrete floor.

I would really advise against using a fanny pack for carry, as they require 2 hands to open and you could get hurt real bad because of that. Our CCW instuctor told us of a student of his who carried this way and could draw fast, but one day a guy starting plunging a knife into him and he couldn't get the pack open with one hand and defend himself. He finally kicked the guy away, opened the pack and shot the guy but he took alot of stab wounds he didn't have to. Also someone can come up and cut a fanny pack away from you. I'd rather use my Royal Robbins pants to carry everything - tons of room! :)
