My little girl is almost 8 and knows I'm a knife guy. With her mother's help she got me the first knife I have ever received on Father's day (and I have a thirty year old as well from the first ex). Anyway, little Ella asked to be taken to Dick's by her mother, and while at the counter she first picked out a $13 dollar knife. My wife nudged her and said you can pick out another one if you like...her very next selection was the "grey" knife. This knife enclosed in clear plastic with a red insert happened to be a Kershaw Cryo, pictured here. She said she liked it the best for me, as my wife retold the story later. The knife is a little small for my hand, the thumb studs are worthless, but it has cool, functional flipper, not even close to the sharpest blade I have felt on a Kershaw...and I love it. It will be one I keep as a non-working piece and take out only when she wants to see it and as I get grayer and want to remember my little sweetpea's thoughtful, loving gesture for her dad.

So you got 2 knives for father's day, and one's a Cryo? Nice!

My wife, who thinks it's silly for me to carry one knife let alone to buy several, took it upon herself to buy the above sharping kit for me. This is the only non card gift I've ever gotten on Fathers Day.

Hey Prax that was very nice of your wife...maybe she is coming around? :)
Looks like a fine kit...let us know how it works for you.

Its a nice knife, Sam. It just doesn't fit my hand well. I'll make sure to use it at select times when I know she is watching :)

Great your family is embracing your passions!!

Mine is scared if I sharpen a pencil with my latest WWII find, a Colonial pilots survival knife. LOL

I bought my Father an Army 1775 commemorative knife.
Not a great knife but he appreciated the thought. He was in Korea when I was born.
