Favorite 9mm handgun

it would be easier for me to list the ones I do NOT like

after much research and thought , we have collected a few really great guns(fun to shoot-easy to use) ranging from walthers+ glocks to Dan wessons, czs and berettas. I love all of them-- my wife rarely balks and gives one back(refuses to shoot).

hammered, striker fired all good to me!!

but I am limited by hand size to full and compact sizes only( 4-5" barrels)--grips fit me better--my wife too-- ironic to say the least-happy shooting

STI Trojan ,very sweet shooting pistol .In line next would be my CZ 75 and last but not least a Beretta 92fs I enjoy shooting 9's they offer enough snap for fun range time while still somewhat affordable

I don't mind the tupperware, but I much prefer some steel. I'll take my P38 or P08 any day of the week.

I agree steel is mor e comfortable and accurate(vs polymers--for me any way

I've owned various 9mm's for many years and have had a few "favorites". I love my M&P Pro series, but my newest favorite full size 9 is my Walther PPQ M2 5" that I customized. My favorite small carry 9mm is my custom S&W Shield since it just seems to do it all very well.


PPQ at 14-yards... Gotta love it!


Shield is just right for any occasion.

Favorite is the HK P7, no other gun is as ambidextrous as that one - and I love that squeeze cocker.

I don't have many, among the few I like the Browning HP. The long reset, gritty mag safety and all... This pistol feels great to shoot with my smallish hands.

Feeds reliably in a P228. Don't know about the P226 proper but I imagine that it would feed reliably in that gun too!

Star model Super A. Beautifully fitted and finished, accurate, reliable and with that unique take down lever on the right side that looks like a slide stop. As far as I know, the only 1911 clone with that feature.

Plus, it eats 38 Supers like candy. (They actually feel weaker than some of the Largo ammo.)

Springfield EMP

My Springfield EMP is the best handling 9 mm I have shot. It has been very reliable, eating every 9 mm ammo I have put into it. I have now started using reloaded 9 mm and not one FTF or FTE. The Trijicon sights are great. This is one great firearm.

Nice to see that the S&W 3913 and 690X have come up in this thread. The 3913 though it fit well, I didn't warm to it and replaced it with the double stack 6904 version.

This is going to get a few laughs, if not more, but my favorite is the SCCY. I absolutely love it, the trigger, the size and fit, accuracy, and the price can;t be beat.

My #2, and this also will probably get a few laughs, is the Taurus PT111, though the trigger is no where as nice as the SCCY.

I'm not much of a full size guy, as you can tell, but if not for the size the Beretta 92FS is certainly up there with my favorites.
