I've been using .30-06 loaded with 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips over 57 grs of IMR 4350 for 20 years. I have no need to look further.

I've used Hornady Spire Points, Hornady Interlocks, Rem Core-Lokts, Nosler Partitions, Speer Grand Slams, Winchester Power-Points, Federal Soft Points, etc. and all resulted in dead deer. I'm going to try some Accubonds this year. If I had to pick a caliber it would be .30, specifically a 30-06 or .308.

I use Accubonds in my 270 WSM the results are impressive to say the least. Now mind you anything that expands and still holds together at 3200+fps is bound to impress :)

used interlocks for years and had no reason to switch. just was able to squeeze a bit more accuracy out of green tipped nosler ballistic tips. killed things just as dead though. so i voted for ballistic tips.

.270 Win with Remington 130 gr Core-Lokt
Killed everything I've ever shot with it

Theyre cheap and as they say, "The Deadliest Mushroom in the Woods!"

The last 25 or so deer i shot, i've shot them with 8mm caliber, useing 200NP's. The reason for the NP is, i always work up a load for my rifles, takeing into account the biggest big game animal i will shoot with that rifle. And as i've also taken moose and blk. bear with my 8x57jrs, so, i worked up the 200NP load.

It works perfectly on the biggest moose on down to the smaller animals like Javolina and coyotes. It drives in deep on the moose, yet still expands some in the small animals... PERFECT!

I like to keep is simple with Core-Lokt bullets. They work well enough, and are available locally (no shipping) at decent prices.

30-06, 300 WM, 25-06, .270, 308, 30-30 win-TC super 14": I've used each and every one of these and Nosler BT's have worked really well every time in each of these calibers.

Mostly have used 165 gr Hornady Interlock over 44 grains of Varget in the 06. This is a very mild load but has served me well. I think I need to punch 'em up a little in my old age though.

I worked up loads for my Rem 700 in .270. Started with Speer 130 & 150 gr Game Kings, Barnes TTSX 130gr, Nosler 130 gr Ballistic Tips and ended up with Nosler 130 gr Accubonds over 53.3 gr of H4350. The Accubonds consistantly shot under 1" at 100 yrds with and average of .67 running at 3,090 fps. I stopped searching and settled with this. The deer don't mind because they are on their way to heaven before they hit the ground.

Yeah Nosler makes some really good stuff, shame winchester charges out the wazoo for their loaded bullets. While not the olny brand I handload, I load Nosler in all my rifles.

Nosler and Speer, and Hornady all make good boattail bullets, and I use them all but I rather like the Ballistic Tip and its siblings, the E-tip and AccuBond.

But I'm experimenting with the InterBond from Hornady right now...

Kind of supprising, I thought for sure the core lokt bullets would be #1 by far, the BTs are neck and neck with them.

I don't really have a favorite centerfire rifle bullet for deer, since I haven't hunted them that much that way. I really like Partitions and TSX, though. Seen them do some phenomenal stuff to elk. But I question whether that kind of performance is really needed for deer.

The way I look at it I would pay the extra for premium bullets, 50 to 75 cents is a small price to pay for the extra insurance. Now some calibers perform at their best with less expensive bullets, my 140gr SSTs seem to be made for my 6.5x55 and they are only around 26 cents a piece. I might one day find a bullet that perform even better a tad better and I would not mind paying for the extra performance. I am loading Accubonds in my WSM because they can supposdly stay intact at 3200+fps.

From the listed ones I would have to put Core Lokts, but my all time favorite is the Nosler Solid Base. There just isn't much I wouldn't have the confidence in putting them to task on within their limits. Shame they dropped them from their line as they were to me the best overall bullet I have used.

They claim the BT is simply the Solid Base with a plastic tip, but it isn't even a close second.

I've used many of the older bullet designs. I've also used the Berger's in .257". However, CorLokts have lost their attactiveness due to Remington charging more for them than Sierra's or Hornadys. Due to superior accuracy, I use mostly the Sierra's now. However, due to price and availability, mostly the Hornady Interloks.
