Colt 1849 pocket pistol carried by my great-great grandfather at the Battle of Atlanta.

followed by

Mossberg 410 bolt action shotgun carried by my grandfather then my dad before me.

Western Field .22LR carried by my dad and then me.

Colt Trooper Mk III .22LR given to me by my grandfather.

Apart from those,

For deer hunting my favorite rifle is a Western Field 770 in 7mm Mag.

For duck hunting, my favorite shotgun is a Savage/Valmet 333. in 12. Works fine for rabbits, too.

For squirrel hunting, see 410 and 22 above.

For target shooting, probably a tie between SVD and PSL.

If I had a Garand, it would be my favorite.

My current favorite is a Para P16 40s/w. I also have a Clark 38 super barrel for it. With a simple mag, barrel, and recoil spring change, I can shoot super with 20 in the mag ;). I am working on turning my old 40 barrel into a 10mm.

pretty much any gun that will shoot a bullet haha.

Deer Hunter, I linked the 1740 to one of my acquaintances - he had some choice words - said "what a waste of two perfectly good shotguns". Obviously you and I and many others disagree. :)

Probably my old, beat-up 20 gauge 3” Magnum Remington 1100 is my favorite gun. I don't use it that often, but it fits well, points quickly and is a pleasure to carry in the field. Most importantly, it was my grandfather's gun (he gave it to me after his eyes got so bad he couldn't hunt anymore).

I took my first ducks with that gun, using some old number 2 steel shot that had belonged to my buddy’s late uncle. I’m not usually a very spiritual or sentimental guy, but I sorta felt like the spirit of those two hunters (my Grandpa and my buddy’s late Uncle) were with me that day. I never got to hunt with my Granddad, but using his gun felt a little bit like hunting with him.

Handgun is a 1911 Kimber followed closely by a S&W mdl 10 (my first gun). Rifle is my Bushmaster M-4.

favorite

Favorite is a SAI M1A NM about 27 years old. Still makes four leaf clovers on the target.

S&W mod. 57, 6". Just wish it didn't cost so much to shoot.

Shotgun, 3200 with real nice wood.

One I shoot the most is an AR 10 carbine.

and other days it’s the Czechs

For me, that's *most* days. And that's just with 550s, 452s, a CZ/Huglu shotgun, and 75s - just wait til I add the 527 - then I'll be a fanatic with ALL the boxes "Czech'ed". :)

Say, that reminds me, get the 527 Varmint laminated in .223 rem or .204 ruger? :p

My first sporterizing job back before I was old enough to drive.
DWM M-98 Mauser in 7 x57mm With a Douglas #5 taper barrel, 1 in 10 twist, Timney trigger, Fajen thumbhole stock (from a block of wood).

Maybe she is a little heavy and I need to recut the stock for man size hands.
And maybe she is worth much less on the resale market. Plus I might not be able to hold off an Army of zoombies.... BUT....

I have shot and hunted with this old gal (Lizzie Borden) since 1970.

She still shoots...

Savage 99

I have a 300 Savage 99 that I grew up with. I made my best shot with it and have killed a slew of pigs and deer. I have that gun retired now and am saving it for my boys. It hold memories both happy and sad. It is my dad because he taught me the joy of deer hunting behind that gun....
