Hopefully everyone has a chance to chime on this thread.

Seems like many quotes have the ability to sum up an opinion or generalize the belief of someone. I really enjoy collecting quotes for that reason.

Right now, just as a humor quote i like " I don't call 911, I call 1911."

and everyone should throw in an unfirearms related quote. Like a Patton quote or something along those lines.

Eagerly awaiting responses,

-Elmer

Saw this on THR

Don't remember who the author was.

"Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars."

Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.

Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

"A golf course is the willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range."

"A handgun is what you carry when you are not expecting trouble."

From Murder My Sweet
Phillip Marlowe:
"Oh that. It's just part of my clothes. I hardly ever shoot anybody with it."

From "Army of Darkness"

"Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun."

From Farscape

Chiana: Your only cranked cause Wynona jammed.
John: hey, Wynona has been very relible it's not her fault that she jammed.

Wynona is John's pulse pistol, a sidearm

From The Simpsons - Homer

“I don't have to be careful, I've got a gun”

"Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun."

I think I was one of the few people on Earth to see AOD in the theatre.

Lastly, classic definitions ... and multiple choice.

1. A Democracy: Three wolves and a sheep voting on dinner.
2. A Republic: The flock gets to vote for which wolves vote on dinner.
3. A Constitutional Republic: Voting on dinner is expressly forbidden, and the sheep are armed.
4. Federal Government: The means by which the sheep will be fooled into voting for a Democracy.

If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws.

Edward Abbey
(1927-1989)

If guns are outlawed, how will liberals collect taxes?

Anonymous

There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11?

Lords of War

Only an armed man can have political rights

Old Swiss tradition

The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

John Steinbeck

There are no such things as dangerous weapons. There are only dangerous men.

Robert Heinlein, Methuselah

Nothing says, "Please don't rape me." like multiple jacketed hollowpoints.

John Fogh

The end move in politics is always to pick up a gun.

R. Buckminster Fuller

"What are they planning to do to normal, honest people, that they want us to be disarmed when they do it?" - Keith R. Wood

I am more afraid of an army of 100 sheep lead by a lion, than of an army of 100 lions lead by a sheep. Tallyrand

In Washington, there are two parties: The Stupid Party (the GOP) and The Evil Party (the Democrats). Occasionally they will collaborate to do something that is both stupid and evil. We call this “bipartisanship.” - William N. Grigg

"If you don't like it here, why don't you leave?"
"What? And be victimized by American foreign policy?"

"After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it." — William S. Burroughs

LIBERAL: SOMEONE WHO KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE GOD WENT WRONG

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government" -- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

"And just think, next time I shoot someone I could be arrested."
--Frank Drebin - The Naked Gun

Great multiple choice X Who. :)

" Do you know what your sin is ? "
" I'm a fan of all seven , but right now I'm gonna have to go with ...wrath."
-Serenity/Firefly , the movie.

I don't know who came up with it..
"God created Man & Woman. Sam Colt made them equal"

One from the movie Ronin. R. De Niro replies when asked
the question, " Have you ever killed anyone ?"

Mr.De Niro "No, but I hurt someone's feelings once."
Or something close to this. I just caught a bit of it last
night watching the flick on AMC. I thought that was pretty
good, considering he was checking out a 1911, I believe.

And one my ex boss used to say that drove me nuts..
" You know, if it's f***ed up, it's no good..."
I apologize for the bad word, but it's just not the same
without it.

Finally I believe it was Steve McQueen who replied "We deal in lead."
From the movie Mag 7 wasn't it ?

Quotes

Can't remember who to credit it to...

"A pistol is like an ambulance. You don't need one often...but when you do, you need it badly and you need it quickly."

And:

"It's not always being fast that counts...or even accurate. It's being willing."

-John Wayne as J.B.Books in The Shootist-

Not necessarily the best role models to follow, but when I saw Crash, I couldn't help but laugh at the following exchange between Anthony(Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) and Peter(Larenz Tate):

ANTHONY:...Fact. If anybody should be scared around here, it's us! We're the only two black faces surrounded by a sea of over-caffeinated white people, patrolled by the trigger-happy L.A.P.D. So you tell me - why aren't we scared?

PETER: 'Cuz we got guns?

ANTHONY:...You could be right.

And also, the infamous(but FUNNY) line from the Gun Store Owner(Jack McGee) in the scene immediately previous:

Yo, Osama! Plan a jihad on your own time...Yeah, I'm ignorant? You're liberating my country, and I'm flying 747's into your mud huts and incinerating your friends? Get the **** out!

Also, see my signature lines below:

Here's mine.;)
"you got no buisness carrying one of these things if you don't know how to handle one"- Deputy Barney Fife

I support the Brady Bill and I urge the Congress to enact it without further delay." - Ronald Reagon, March 28th 1991.

A good example that you have to watch for the antigunner in progunner clothing.
