Walmart has the Tremors 3 Pack right now for like $13. You gotta get it.

Why do we need .50 BMG rifles? For Graboids of course!

John Woo's Hard Boiled where Chow Yun-Fat who plays Tequila slides down the railing on his back shooting the bad guys in the tea house.

"Damn it, I ran out of ammo...That NEVER happens!" (or to that effect).

The line was from Tremors 2: Aftershocks. Burt says, "I am completely out of ammo." (He looks confused and depressed) "That's never happened to me before. "

"Zulu"
Lieutenant John Chard: [shouting] Front rank fire! Rear rank fire, reload!
Bromhead: Fire at will!
Pte. Owen: That's very nice of him.
Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead: Sixty! We dropped at least 60, wouldn't you say?
Adendorff: That leaves only 3,940.

Men of Harlech stop your dreaming
Can't you see their spear points gleaming
See their warrior's pennants streaming
To this battle field

Men of Harlech stand ye steady
It cannot be ever said ye
For the battle were not ready
Stand and never yield

Form the hills rebounding
Let this war cry sounding
Summon all at Cambria's call
The mighty force surrounding

Men of Harlech onto glory
This shall ever be your story
Keep these fighting words before ye
Cambria (Welshmen never) will not yield

Full Metal Jacket and Heat are pretty good, but without Welsh singers

Firefly, first episode.

Fed. mole and Simon are having a little talk, Simon has a pistol pointed at the fed, the fed is talking his way closer and closer to his own gun. The classic movie gun showdown, right?

Federal Mole: I know what you did was for your sister, I respect that, but you cannot run. Even if I die they will continue to hunt you down *begins to move toward his pistol on the ground*

Simon: I SAID HOLD IT! *shaking, obviously not in his happy place*

Mal and Jayne come back, makes Simon turn a bit, the fed gets up and grabs the pistol and River, putting the gun to River's head.

Federal Mole: "Don't anyone movie or I'll-"

BANG

Mal shoots the guy while walking casually back onto Serenity, starts giving orders, and throws his body out the ship as they take off.

How hostage scenes SHOULD be.

this thread has brightened my day.

or should i say "made my day"

I vote for Burt in TREMORS, and Neo in MATRIX.

The last half-hour of Saving Private Ryan, come to think of it the first half-hour too. Wait, let's just say the whole dern thang.

Also I seem to recall a running gun fight in the latest Bond that was really good and really brutal.

I have to agree that the scenes mentioned from Zulu and Tremors are some of my favorites.

Yo homie! Is that my briefcase?
Damn straight!

I heard that Cruise was coached by a former SAS guy for the gun play in Collateral. I've got that clip saved in my video file and I've watched it a million times. His technique is pretty damned good.

:)

I can't believe no one's mentioned the famous "Don't bring a sword to a gun fight" scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark

I also like Zulu quite a lot. Shows what a small contingent of men well-trained in the use of a rifle and bayonet and with some level-headed leadership can do.

Color Sergeant Bourne was my favorite. SO many good lines in that....

"Do up your tunic, man! Where do you think you are?!?!?!" As they're about to be rushed by 5,000 Zulus!

And the exchange between Bromhead, Chard, and Bourne. Not sure if I have it verbatim, but it was something like:

Bromhead - "It's a miracle..."

Chard - "Yes, a point four five, short chamber miracle."

Bourne (a tad indignantly) - "And a bayonet, sir! With some guts be'ind it!"

:)

Open Range is a great gun fight.

Another vote for Zulu

There were also some great scenes in "The Ronin".

No one has mentioned: "Aim small, miss small." The Patriot

Chap

The Med-lab scene from Aliens and of course John Wayne riding with the reins in his mouth whilst firing a SAA and Winchester at the same time in True Grit. The dialogue before he rides is classic!:)

Harry Harboard Morant

"Shoot straight you bastards. Don't make a mess of it!"

Edward Donald Slovick:

They're not shooting me for deserting, thousands of guys have done that. They're shooting me for the gum & cigarettes I stole when I was 12 years old."

Ltc George Armstrong Custer:

"Onward, onward to the Little Bighorn and glory!"

"Black Hawk Down.

The whole movie counts as my favorite gun scene."

+1.

And one of my favorites is the Band of Brothers episode Crossroads, when capt. Winters is lonely fighting against a platoon of Germans with his M1 Garand. And it wasn't fiction at all.
