Hey all, slightly new here. And sorry in advance if I'm being redundant.

I've only shot a couple thousand rounds through about 5 pistols, as well as the several occasions with a 12ga, .308, .22, etc.
Growing up in the city with a gunshy crowd didn't offer me the oppportunity to shoot a lot.
Anyway, simply wanted to share my thoughts so far and maybe get some suggestions on which pistols to shoot next.

I've shot

x2 XD .45s 4"
Beretta 92fs 9mm
SIG Pro 2022 9mm
Taurus Milenium PT140 in 40S&W 3" (snappy and small....)

My favorites have been the XD and Beretta. Fun to shoot, and very accurate compared to the .40, and the double action SIG.

Which pistols/revolvers are your favorite to shoot, what should I try for next?

Thanks,
luxd

you need to get some rimfire time under your belt
try any of the quality .22s
Ruger MK series (MKII stainless target...my personal favorite)
Browning Buckmark
S&W 41 or 22a
Beretta Neos
or
revolvers
Ruger Single Six
Ruger Bearcat
Any of the Smith & Wesson 22 revolvers (My favorite was my M-63...kick myself everyday for selling it)

its fun, quiet(er)
and best of all, its way easier on the wallet

In terms of autoloaders, my favorites have been the 1911 (just bare bones 1911) and my XD 45 Compact. The grip angle on the 1911 and the XD point far better than my father's Glock 19 for me and I'm also just a fan of the .45acp. That said, I know he prefers his Glock and we seem to shoot on par with each other. I use either the XD or the 1911 for EDC (recently the 1911 more often than the XD) so they both see a lot fo use and practice. Personally I find the .45acp very comfortable to shoot and a lot of fun for recreational shooting (a wee bit expensive these though).

That said, one of the pistols I get a ton of enjoyment out of it for just recreational shooting is my Nagant revolver. It's surprisingly accurate and there's just something about that it makes it a hoot to shoot. It's not a "comfortable" shooter by far (though it has little recoil, in DA mode the trigger is a real pain, SA mode isn't too bad) yet it still remains a fun gun and I've been considering looking into revolvers more seriously.

I have a good selection, but my favorite is a Colt King Cobra. I've fired more thru it than all my others combined.

+1 on the snakes. For SA I stick to the Blackhawks. For slides, it's only the 1911. Overall favorite has to be the Python.

Glock 19 (I've had it since late 1998), followed closely by a CZ75D PCR. (Of course, those are the only guns I have left :banghead: but that should tell you something, too.) I note that you haven't yet shot either of these. Glocks, in particular, are ubiquitous at rental ranges, if you have one near you.

My Kimber, 1911.

S&W M22

S&W M25

Colt SAA 44 special

Colt SAA 44-40

When I am shooting, it is generally one of those 5. However, I do on occasion shoot my rifles, 9's and 40's.

My favorite auto to shoot is my Ruger Mk. II Target.

Next to that, probably my Bersa 380 and Para GI Expert 1911. I actually think the Bersa is more fun than the 1911, and very nearly as accurate.

The Ruger Mk. II is the most accurate and most easy to shoot accurately. Ammo has always been affordable. These days, 380 costs more than 45. Wouldn't shoot either of them much if I didn't reload my own ammo.

The only thing wrong with the 380 and 45 mentioned above is that I have to chase brass. So in the end, I prefer my revolvers.

My Redhawk is chambered in .44 Magnum, has the 7.5" barrel, and a 2.5x scope. It is easy to shoot tight groups with it. Light reloads are a real joy, as the recoil is just where I want it and they are twice as accurate as factory ammo.

I just got laser grips on my 3" SP-101 in .357. Now, it is just as accurate as the Redhawk, provided I can see the laser. (I can't see it past about 10 or 15 yards outside in sunny conditions) I shot a 5 shot, one hole group with it at 7 yds. With it yesterday. Again, with light reloads.

Autos are fun, but not as rewarding to me.

Colt Python with .38 special. It's like shooting a .22, but it makes bigger holes :p .357 is fun in it too. After the boom, concussion, muzzle blast, seeing the rounds hit what I aimed at is fun.

High Standard 70's model "The Victor" in .22LR
6" Smith & Wesson model 19 .357 magnum
5" Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special .45 ACP
Remy 12 gauge 870 "Marine Magnum"
Rock River Arms "Operator Elite" LAR-15 5.56
Kahr CW-9 9mm
Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 9mm
SA 4" [service model] XD .45 ACP
Kimber 3" STS Ultra Carry II .45 ACP
Ruger 10/22 .22LR
1966 Colt Detective Special .38 Special*
West German SIG-SAUER P220A .45 ACP
West German SIG-SAUER P228 9mm

*I have two of these from the same year; but I am only willing too shoot one~! Also, I own a bunch more; but they are "SAFE QUEENS"- and I don't intend to shoot 'em~! :scrutiny: ;) :D

A good .45 auto. I like the Sig P220 ST. They have a very good power to recoil ratio.

A .22 semi auto. For me, a Mark II and my new .22 conversion for my P220 (5 stars).

Big bore revolver. Mine is a S&W 624 .44 special, but single actions are nice too.

All of my .22s are just pure fun, including the High Standard Sentinel revolver and the Ruger Mk II Government that came in that calibre, and the .22 conversion units for my Glock 30 and 1911A1 .45s.

I only have one handgun in my collection so by default it would be my favorite it is a ss Ruger gp100 6" half lug.

When I was younger my father would reward me after wood cutting with letting me shoot his 4" colt Diamondback 38, and 6" Diamondback 22lr, someday I hope Colt will see the light and bring them back, IMO some of the nicest revolvers made.

Toss up between a few. Luckily I can just take whatever I feel like shooting that day.

It would probably be my Wilson or Ed Brown 1911 if I owned one......;)

S&W model 36-1 3inch barrel. What a sweet shooting gun. Just to put lead down range Ruger GP 100 4 inch half lug barrel in 38 spl only.
