1) S&W 500 Mag with 4" bbl.

Pulling the trigger is like eating a Pringle.

That made me laugh out loud! That is exactly what its like, the slide locks back and my first thought is wow, that was a full magazine...

Which is why my response to the original post is my GP100 shooting mostly light wad cutter .38 reloads, with a few cylinders of full power .357 thrown in, or my Taurus 990 in .22lr. Whether I shoot DA or SA, it still slows me down a bit and I focus on technique more.

I agree on the GP-100. With light .38 loads it really is enough fun to shoot for hours.

Colt Huntsman for a sweet rim-fire automatic.

But for hands down pleasant all day shooting? A K-frame 4" Smith & Wesson pushing basic wad cutters or LRN down range. A Model 10 or 64 is as simple solid and reliable as they come.

I shoot no other handgun as well as my Glock 21, it is my favorite handgun to shoot.

I've been shooting my 19-3 for years and it's still my woods carry gun. But - lately I've been shooting my old HS Victor and 1911 more. The 1911 is a Springer TRP and it may replace the S&W as my favorite.

Stuff that shoots sweet.

MK III, mentioned a lot in this thread.
S&W 686.
Any 1911 with a good trigger job.
CZ-82, the last and best bargain Makarov.
USP 9, amazing low recoil.
XD 45 great factory trigger.

My vote has to go to my .380 Mak. I dont have near as much trigger time behind anything else, compared to it. I feel very fast and fluent with it and would feel much more confident with it in my hands, than anything else in a life or death situation. I guess thats just what gets my rocks off though.
