I just started using a 100 Winchester and then a 100 Wolf to see if I could tell the difference when seating them.

To be honest I can't tell the difference and I also can't see a difference in them at the range.

The Wolf is a lot cheaper by almost $10.00 a 1000 and easier to find so I'll keep using them.

I havn't seen CCI, Federal, Remington or Magtech around my area in over 2 years.

I voted for CCI and Winchester for my rifles. But now I buy whatever I can get. And to be honest I'm not seeing all that much difference, once I re-adjust the loads.

Outside of one being a bit harder or softer than another they are all the same.

I have used all those primers with success except I have never tried Wolf.

I realize that I'm new to the game, only having been handloading for about a year, but I have failed to see any difference in the three brands I have tried. I've tried Remington, CCI, and Winchester with great results. Maybe if I was a better shooter I could tell, but I can't so I'll just buy whatever the local store has in stock.

i use all name brands of primers win cci fed rem i use a different primer for different loads and guns just tried rem 9 1/2 in my 460 s&w and 30-0-6 with great results i use wlrm for my 375 i think it ignites all that powder the best never tried wolf/magtec

I like CCI for rifle loads and Winchesters for pistol loads.

I am just the opposite. I like CCI for Pistol, and Winchester for Lever Rifles. I like Wolf Small Rifle Magnum Primers for .223.

I like CCI primers but will use Winchester primers in a heartbeat. The CCI primers are better because they are shiny. :) Federal primers have a softer cup and tend to be hotter which is sometimes a prescription for pierced primers with hotter loads. But....you use what you can find when supplies are short.

I use and swear by the RCBS APS primer system, both in my Pro 2000 press and my RCBS APS hand primer. Obviously, my favorite primers would come Preloaded in APS strips. Since CCI is the only brand selling primers preloaded in strips....CCI!

I suppose I don't really care between, CCI and Winchester, and availability issues has caused me to purchase whatever brand I can get...I load em into the strips either way.;) I would hate to have to go back to tubes.

BTW, during the worst of the primer drought, CCI was most often the brand I could find...just not in strips. No problem, a box of 100 is loaded into 4 APS strips in about the same time as punching a 100 manually into a tube, except that besides being ready to load, they are safely stored in that state as long as I want.:)

I use Winchester Large Pistol Standard/Magnum primers in my 45 Colts with everything from Trail Boss to IMR-4227. Very convenient.

I voted for all of them cause I get the cheapest ones at the time but usually it's either Winchester or CCI.

I use Federals for pistol because they will fire 99.9999% of the time in a tuned gun with light springs.

They don't appear to be softer, but they do carry an older more explosive primer formula.

I've had a total of 1 not fire. I pulled the bullet and primer, and found the primer which is normally a shade of green had a wierd faded/bleached look to it.

In competition handguns, Federal, for the same reasons as above.

In very large bore rifles, Federal, because they supposedly were designed for it (though I don't know if they are actually the hottest primer any more.)

Otherwise, I don't much care what I use.
