If I could only have one, probably would be the 44 Magnum. With handloads, I can replicate the performance (ballistic energy) of .45ACP, 44 SPL, .357 Mag, 41 Mag, 45 Colt, and any flavor of eyebrow cinching, railroad tie splitting Magnum class rounds I want.

38/357 (most booms)
44mag (bigger booms)
357 Maximum (faster booms)
45ACP (my first revolver)
I have a 45 Colt but it's an antique and I don't shoot it. I also have a 38 SW and some oddball 32 black powder antiques, they won't get shot.
