The P220 is my favorite .45 of all I have ever shot. It is the my replacement for a 1911 since I do not like beaver tail safeties.
The P228 is also a great 9mm. I prefer it over the P229 because of the slimmer slide and the balance of weight.
All together Sig's are some of the best guns out there and definately one of the most reliable.

The P228 has the best ergonomics of any pistol I've ever fired, and that includes every major brand and several models of each. The P239 9mm is a close second IMO.

I would have to say the P220 match or one of the GSR 1911's because I like a slighty heavey weapon and a longer barrel, for greater accuracy.

I really like the P226. I sold my P226 9mm to a guy when I bought another P226 in .40 and he won second place at a target match with it right out of the box. He sold it back to me last year. Now I have a two! :D

P210, the only real SIG service pistol.

(There was also a .25 ACP SIG Chylewski.)

All the rest are mere Sauers.

I bought a 230SL around 1986. The quality/appearance speaks for itself. The size is perfect. It is the house pistol

I chose the P220. Honestly I really can't clarify it to any exact quality. There is just something about it that just feels so right in my hand (don't read into that the wrong way!). You P220 owners know what I'm talking about. It's just an excellent build quality, reliable, solid, good feeling gun to use.

Oops, forgot to vote for multiples. My other favorite is the P230/232 series. Those guns are just absolutely perfect for what they set out to achieve. While I love the PPK, partially for sentimental reasons, I like the Sig series better as it's just better in every way and shoots great! I just wish they made them in 9mm.

226/Pro

I didn't realize we could vote for more than one...

I voted for the 226 because in my mind and hand I feel it's the most comfortable shooting most accurate handgun I have access to. When I pick a gun to carry in the deep desert and all that comes with it. I've used it to kill wildcats, coyote and plenty of snakes. It fits my hand and I can function almost on autopilot with it. Sigperfect! I have no fear that if I ever needed to defend myself, my 226 would rise to the occasion.

I would also include a SigPro on the list, and while many may groan I believe that it's cost opens the doors for a lot of economically challenged people, I was a starving college kid when I bought mine, and I could not afford an even grand for a 229 or 226. Combined with a good capacity, fine fit and 100% reliability this is the gun of choice if I have to recommend a gun with a price ceiling.

Question??? Why didnt' you add the GSR 1911 series into this poll???

Sorry!
I didn't include the GSR, Trailside, or Mosquito because I wanted to keep it to just the Classic "P" series guns and the Sig Pros.

Choosing between P229 and P226 was not easy. I finally decided that the P229 would get the nod because the plastic bases of its magazines make concealment of both the pistol and its spare mags just a bit more comfortable. They are so close in size that I don't find the larger pistol really any more difficult to conceal. I almost voted P220, but not just any P220; I like the feel of the European-style P220, sometimes referred to as the P220E, better.

Out of the following guns I have used P220, P226, P229 and P239; my favorite is the P229. I believe it to be the most versatile.

My first post and I'm not trying to be controversial but.....My P245 is a classic P to me and it comes in a very close second to my P220. Voting for the P220. There is no bad Sig.
Can I still join the Sig Club after this post?

239 & 232.

239 - Cause it's small enough for me to carry (but it is a bit heavy).

232 - Again, small enough for me to carry (and weighs a lot less) and for me at least it points like an extension of my arm. 8 shots from grabbing it off the shelf and point shooting as fast as I could pull the trigger strung holes from above the navel to heart on the bad-guy target at the range (5 yards). I'm better when I take the time to actually aim.
