That's for me to know and not you!
Well I was at a DCM match today and gentlemen was selling a Federal Arms Inc m14 in 7.62mm. I have never heard of Federal Arms. It shot pretty decent groups at 100 yards from the bench (issues with the shooter). The guy was letting it go for 750. Is it worth it? it has a crappy purple fiberglass stock. Can anyone make any suggestions?

I would take a pass.Federal Arms wasnt known for quality and has a rep for shoddy/out of spec receivers/parts.They have been out of business for quite some time now.I would buy a Poly-Tech or Norinco over a Federal Arms anyday.Spend the $750 towards a quality M-14 clone and you will be alot happier.

Don't pass so fast - there are some early Federals that may be worth a look. The man in the know is Lee Emerson, (aka: Different). he has a book called 'M-14 Rifle History And Development'. He's also a member of several boards including m-14forum.com. The link to his online book can be found here: LINK
