I'm the tiny red spot in the sea of blue in Austin
I'll be taking delivery of a good condition FEG P9R auto this week. As you may know, this gun resembles a Browning HP on the exterior, with exception of a somewhat squared trigger guard, but it's interior components are more similar to a SW 59.

Specifically, does anyone know if grips or holsters for other guns will fit the P9R? It appears to resemble later CZ 75B guns, with the CZ being a tad bit longer, so I'll try a CZ holster to see if it fits.

Likewise, I'd love to put some rubber grips on this gun. Any idea if any Pachmayrs or Hogues for other models will fit this gun, with or without modification?

Finally, I'd appreciate any info as to mag availability other than Promags.

OK, I can answer one of the questions myself. The FEG P9R fits perfectly into Askins Avengers made for both the Gov't 1911 and the Commander. It's just about 1/4" short for the Gov't and sticks out about 1/4" with the Commander. Perfect fit otherwise so with a commander holster, as long as it's open ended everything is cool.

Now, the question is whether one of the rubber grips for a HP will fit them? The P9R grips are a shade bigger than the HP's, but there is a lot of metal under those P9R grips. The only concern would be an indentation on the sides of the mainspring housing. Any rubber grips would have to come around the back instead of around the front, and might need some buildup in the area of the main spring to ensure a tight fit. I could see epoxying a tiny piece of wood to the inside of the grip, not unlike the extrusion on the back of the stock grip surface, to cover and fill the indentation.

Shooting report soon.

I know there are or will be others like me with questions about this gun, and if anyone has any experience with them, I'd sure appreciate a holler here.
