just got an feg pa-63 ap9. it's a .380 acp. anyone no anything about these guns? i'd like to know its value and where i could get a manual for it. any help appreciated.

Hmmmmm .380? I have the 9x18 mak. Haven't heard of (or researched) that one. I enjoy mine for what it is. Have you fired it yet?

I was told, mistakenly, that the 9x18 was a 380. Is the barrel marked 380? I do have an FEG 380 that is a great gun but it is not a PA-63. If the slide or barrel is not marked I would have it checked out by a competent gunsmith. The 380 will fire in a 9x18 pistol but could possibly cause problems and is highly inadvisable.
If it is a 380 would be nice to have a range report and pictures.

I have a couple PA-63's, I paid $100.00 each through my FFL buddy, both are in fine condition, both are 9X18 makarov caliber but .380 barrels can be purchased and installed, I have heard of some .380 conversions on the market. The interesting thing is, I can and have fired a lot of .380 ammo out of them, the brass suffers but they cycle and group fairly good. With the 9X18 mak ammo the groups are outstanding, I have been reloading my own for a while now, I take 9x19 cases and trim them down to a 9X18. I use mine as CCW guns, I have many other handguns but I like the slim design. They come apart just like a walther ppk, just pull down on the front of the trigger guard, pull the slide back toward you, once all the way back just lift the back of the slide straight up and remove, pull the spring off and you are ready for cleaning.

I would never recommend shooting a caliber other than what is stamped on your gun, but I just wanted to share my experience. Do not try 9X18 in you 9X17 gun, very bad things could happen.

Hold up!!!!

FEGs were made in .32 ACP (Or 7.65mm) It will say on the slide "7.65".

EITHER WAY dont go throwing .380 or 9x18 in it unless you know for sure what you have.

I had a .32 acp / 7.65mm FEG and loved it......gave it to my Grandmother to keep in her house. The recoil is light. Most folks will tell you its underpowered, but I think it is great for what it is currently being used for.

Mine is marked Pa-63 and is a .380. (It's also marked AP-9, and '9mm Short' on the slide and barrel.)

These are selling for over $200 in .380 these days. The 9mm Makarov version can still be had for under $150.

FEG is no longer in business.

Not trying to split hairs but the pa 63 was made in 9x18, yes I have seen barrel swaps to make it 380. The 32's and the 380's are different model numbers
FÉG later issued models using .32ACP and .380 ACP caliber rounds (FÉG AP9 and PMK-380 respectively)
I have all three of these and even a 22lr version. My PMK-380 is all blued instead of the two tone the PA63's are.

Shooting 9x17 (380) in a 9x18 gun has been discussed in other threads and while it can be done should be discouraged.

it says "9mm short" on the barrel. i have fired it and it shoots real nice. stiff trigger pull though.

Go to the Wolfe website and order a replacement set of springs for your PA63. It makes a world of difference in your trigger pull. I have the 9X18 version.

I mistakenly fired a .380 in my 9X18 PA63.Destroyed the double action ''fly'' on the hammer.Fortunately an easy fix.BuyMilsurp.com had the hammer,complete,w/'fly'' [the lil' flipper lever dealie] for cheap, and it was a drop in fit.$35.00,not a big deal, but DON'T use the wrong ammo by mistake.

You can't dry-fire it with the safety on! ?!?

Well, actually, I suppose you can. After using the decocker, for some reason you can re-cock the hammer and it drops with a trigger pull. At least you can on mine. But the trigger pull is very very light. It's not normal.
