Anyone want to opine on their favored FFL's in North Jersey?
Anyone Shop at Caso's Gun-a-rama? Good? Bad?

Frank Caso is a stand up guy. First rate all the way.

Yes we here in NJ always get the bad rap when it comes to firearms. Yes we are the laughing stock of the Country when firearms are mentioned. I for one am sick and tired of it. But constant complaining from people saying it will never change hurts the worst.

So what to do. You have to start at the beginning. Right now IMHO the beginning is also the future. And that future IS the NJCSD. The NRA is a wonderful organization but what have they done for OUR state in the last 15 years? Yes, I've been an NRA member since 1973 and will continue to support them. However the NJCSD is 100% for NJ. It's a wothwhile group of members willing to take the fight to the lawmakers of NJ.

That's how we stand a chance of changing things in our state. If you can't make the meeting then at the very least join the web site. Or at least make a donation. Give up that six pack on the weekend. They are not asking for much and we all can potentially reap the benefits if we can make the NJCSD a success.

I'm proud to see the dedication that LD has shown since joining in Aug. If we only had 100 more just like him the anti's wouldn't stand a chance!!!! So please send a few dollars to an organization that has YOUR best interests at heart.

Way to go Lion_Dog, I salute you Sir!

shops . . . .

In central and Northern NJ:

Ray's - a little patchy with the counter help. Sometimes you'll get a good guy; last time I was there I got someone who couldn't be bothered. Bubba tactical rifles, hunting shotguns, and lots of handguns

Effingers - nice for fancy shotguns, Browning of all sorts and a small selection of pistols

Meltzers - nice guys great handgun selection and decent long gun selection

Ramsey's - several locations, not my favorite store, haven't been there in years. Don't know that I ever had a real pleasant experience there

When Cabelas moves into Paramus I'm afraid we'll loose many of them.

More southerly, on 130, Harry's Army-Navy and the Sportsmen's Center are both good. Slight edge to the Sportsmen's Center for customer service.

Also check out the Brick Armory on the shore. I bought a bunch of HK mags from them at the last NJCSD shoot I was able to make. Nice guys.

Metzlers - never bought a gun from them, but I did buy a squirrel trap and some ammo. Great people to deal with. Harry's is a good place. I got a nice Security Six and a 10/22 for a steal of a deal.

Lesser know but great guys Side by Side in Denville and Bates in North Haledon.

MinMAN here saying hello,

I personally don't think we stand a chance with the current admin we got here in New Jersey. I'll help your org with a number and some money. The way I figure, it's better to stand for a worthy cause and maybe not win, than to let it go without a fight.

Other states are not immune to similar scrutiny at some point or other.
Our brothers from other states can be key to our success, and their future success in preserving our rights. The more support we get from around the country the better.

THE X NEW JERSIAN

Been to both, Hary's seems to be more firearm friendly, after a purchase they sent you cards for awhile, Christmas or whatever. Bought some nice rifles at their yard sales good discounts.:)
Sportsmaen's center tried to buy a handgun there once they ran me thru the ringer, verify this then that it was into the second week this was down this one wasn't there to verify a price, told them to keep it after that a the guy who looked as though he just had a six pack and hadn't showered this year yet was rude as hell. Just reciently had a friend try to by a shot gun for his son went thru the samething. he after the second trip left it there. :banghead:

Thank you Mauser88, for those fine words.

If I can opine on NNJ FFL's there are some really good ones (fair prices and good service - I never reward high prices and insultingly high prices).

My personal favorite is (they are not relatives or business associates):

Bates Paterson Rod & Gun
845 Belmont Avenue
North Haledon, NJ 07508
(973) 427-5258

If you like I will meet you there and personally introduce you as "family".

I have yet to see legal firearms owners that are not productive members of society. Why don't you guys cmon down to Fl. No state income tax. No Firearms I.D. to go begging the local police for. No I.D. for buying ammo. Ammo is sold at walmart and you can mail order it here. No snow(I still hate snow), winter lasts a whole two weeks. Screw New Jersey leave let the liberals pay for their socialist agenda and live free somewhere else.

It is NOT time for me to retire or the very productive Mrs. - still have most ties here. We were looking at the 4-Corner states.

Even when I leave I'll still be supporting NJ fight against the corrupt Sheit in this state.

Corswine slates a 2 BILLION dollar increase in EDUCATION spending for NJ which already has enough budgetary woes. SO WHO does he put in to do the "feasibility study" for doling this money out??? The PRESIDENT of the NJ Teachers' Union!!! Teachers deliver the vote and Corswine quid pro quo's with 2 BILLION dollars for their role in teaching!!! And no one in NJ thinks this is CORRUPT - jeez, WAKE UP!!!!

I love the change of season. I lived in Houston, where the climate is similar to places in Florida. I don't appreciate the extended heat that much. Not to mention the floods. I wondered what the hell I was doing down there, driving my Tahoe through water raised over my hood. Thankfully enough, I was "Yankee enough" to have the brains to buy a house at the top of one of the few hills they had over there, and not in a flood zone. Point being, pick your own "paradise". One man's paradise, is another man's hell.

Fellow New Jersy-ans fought hard to kick the ???? out of the Britts during our revolution. The base bloodline of the original New Jerseyians are not a majority anymore. WE are still here, and can only put up with so much, before we eventually take our state back.

Well I just wanted to give you fellows a good natured ribbing. 2 Billion dollar increase. So what is the total spent on education there. Harvard must be filled with students from NJ with all that money being spent on it. People must be reading poetry on the bus. And discussing calculus over lunch.

Well gentlemen have a nice day. I still have family there. So good luck.

Gentleman, I am not known for posting in the political section. This thread warranted my response, since the place where I live, is near and dear to my family and myself. I have read many post in the nature of bashing New Jersey. I think that approach does not weigh favorably to some of the now minority of us having our Second Amendment rights as Americans infringed on. I though this thread was about more for good the cause, than the bashing.

Sorry for the rant.

Former NJ residents please come to our aid - support US. We need you at our backs, on our 6, as it were. You having the "good life" (read in a free/r state not necessarily living extravagently) should be in a position to help. Think of it as ONE range trip expenditures (average $35.00) invested for the future of firearms ownership - become donating members. The quicker we could all put our little/PETTY differences aside the STRONGER WE ALL BECOME!

Give no state or ground up. To do so, is a sign of weakness and promise of future victorys to the adversary.

Thanks for the compliment Nathan. However, I and others, feel this should be normal behavior in response to such ignorance.

What you put in your signature, is something I believe, and try my best to live by, though you put it in better wording.;)
My signature is RGS, which simply means "Real Good Shooting".;)

It's been fun.:D

Found this site through FivePakNH's Free Speech forum. Soooooo.... I registered for this site and as a concerned NJ resident just joined up with NJCSD too. We have to do something about the way the government is going in Trenton and all the gun grabbing talk again. I've been involved in the fisheries side of dealing with the state for a few years, while not exactly the same degree of threat to persnal freedoms, NJ has to be one of the most screwed up states to be a sportsman in. I'll stand my ground and do what I can as a patriot and loyal citizen to help protect our rights. Nice to be aboard.

Well I can't properly welcome you to THR properly, since I'm a new member too. I can welcome you to the New Jersey peanut army, what amounts to whats left of the true Minutemen. We are fighting a truly degenerate adversary, whom has control over our legislature. Our own New Jersey judicial system ignores the ruling passed by the United States Congress to uphold no plaintiffs rulings in regard "false liability/frivolous lawsuits" which in spite of that Congressional law, NJ continues illegally. They still allow false and frivolous suites be filed on various firearms manufacturers.

If we do nothing, this state will be a short-dicked liberal breading ground for the spineless.

Rant!:cuss:

L-D,
I just thought to post notice of meeting over at NJHUNTERS.com. I took it upon myself to do so. There are a lot of folks online there now so maybe some will showup tomorrow.

Good luck in Jersey. Burnt earth is all you should give the antis! We must fight them everywhere and cede nothing to the enemies of freedom!:fire:

Till the next time.... a deserved thank you to all.

Thank you all, especially the MODS, for helping us with pointing attention to NJ's Patriots and the good fight.

Fighting for OUR Founding Father's traditions and beliefs will all help us to sit at the right hand of the Almighty some day, I believe.

I will post updates on our activities as we progress.

Please keep us in you heart and minds (donations are welcome), we are here doing the rrrrright thing and taking the HIGH ROAD.

Edit: grammar/sp.

Lion - I am glad to see some good responses and wish you guys all the success possible.

In many ways you are climbing the down escalator but even that can work.

I'll ''de-stick'' this now as we do not want too many stickies all the time - however if later there are updates of particular import then one of us can maybe stick again to enhance exposure - plus too all involved keep in touch thru PM and email.

Once again, thank you. When the time comes again I'll reach out and ask for your HELP!

Best regards.
