After noticing that my pathetic eyes can't see the front sight on my new (to me) Ruger 10/22, I have decided to forgo the pleasure of replacing the sights with GI style sights, and instead buy some fiber optic sights so that I can actually see the durn things.

It just so happens my sister gave me a $50 Amazon gift card for Christmas, so I'm looking at the models Amazon carries. They have these:

Truglo

HiViz

Fire Sights

Which set should I order? :)

Although I like the HiVis traditional leif rear best in the center link?

The front sight rod looks a little more protected on the Fire Sights.

Rods get bumped & break easily, so more support in the center of the rod is probably a good thing.

But I'm just guessing as I have no experiance with any of them.

If I'm not mistaken, the Williams Firesights are the brand the Ruger uses OEM on some models.

Worked for a while in Illinois' largest gun shop, and every day I threw the 10/22 with the Firesights up to my shoulder. It's a heck of a lot better for my eyes than the standard irons.

I have a 52-year old eye. Actually, I have two, but the right one doesn't work so well any more.

I just put the williams peep and fire sight combo on my 10/22 for xmas. It's great. I can actually see the sight now. I do wish that the fiber rod was a bit smaller though. I've had hiviz on a glock. They're both quality products.
