Fighting Crime In Post-Katrina New Orleans

Let's clarify a few things, Katrina was a category 5 hurricane, when it was in the gulf, out at sea. By the time it waded ashore it was a category 3 hurricane. A strong 3, but still a 3.

Also, the hurricane did a lot of damage, but the retaining wall giving away flooded 80% of the city. Maybe we should invite some engineers from the Netherlands over to advise us on how to build levees? They've been reclaiming land from the sea for longer than New Orleans has been around.

"By us arming ourselves and arming our people, we are going to create a war in New Orleans. And that is what we don't want," says Mejia.

Friend, the war's already been declared. Whether you fight or just become a victim to it is up to you.

My granddaughter went to her first class in a college Political Science class. The subject of New Orleans and their post hurricane recovery was brought up. Can you guess whose fault he said was? Right on--Bush.:barf:
