I finally broke down and bought my first Glock, a used Glock 22 with 1 15 rd mag and an OWB Fobus paddle holster for $350.

It is the older style without the finger groove front strap and without the built in light rail; 2 features that were not important to me. It does have some hoslter wear but the internals don't have much wear.

It was an impusle purchase for me. I carry and shoot 1911's. But for $350 I figured why not round out the collection. This will be my first 40 cal, as well.

How'd I do?

I think you did good.

The G22 was my first pistol. It was a used Generation 2 (same as yours) that had noticeable wear.

What I loved about mine, was how smooth the trigger was because of the use. I've bought 3 new Glocks since then, and it took a long time to break the trigger in to where it felt like the G22.

I've since put newer night sights on mine (as the trijicons that were on it were becoming dull) and added a Lasermax internal laser sight.

I think I paid about $330 for mine out the door, so your price seems fair.

Happy Glocking.

I think you got a good deal...IMO, Glocks are good unless they blow up! ;) Used Glocks can be really nice guns to have in the mix ;)

Good deal. A lot of folks prefer the 2nd Gens due to no finger grooves (I do). You can get 9mm & .357 Sig barrels and a .22 kit and shoot 4 different calibers out of your G22 if you want.

I did not know that.

What's involved in the 9 mm barrel?
What's the cost?
Where would you buy a 9 mm barrel?
Do you need the 9 mm mags too?

Yes you would need new mags, and there are both factory conversion barrells (somewhat more difficult to find) and plenty of aftermarket ones. Try Glockmeister.com for the barrells.

$350 is a good price. Most used Glocks still sell for over $400.

Welcome to the Tupperware Party!! My first Glock was also a 2nd generation G23, I bought it new 11 years ago and it has been with me everyday since! You did very well for a awesome carry holster look at the Bianchi Carry Loc line, it is the best holster I have ever used.

Regarding barrel/caliber conversions, you can check out Lone Wolf Dist. They have a drop-in barrel for 9mm or .357SIG.

You can use your standard .40S&W magazines for the .357SIG.

Glocks are great aren't they?
