Finally broke down today and purchased some .22 LR.

Still have plenty of the regular off the shelf stuff, paid $8 to $10 bucks a brick.

What I buy now is the match ammo that costs approx. $120 bucks a brick.

I was at cabelas and a larger mom and pop store over the weekend and haven't seen so much 22lr in years. I even seen Winchester white box bricks of 555rds for $29. still higher than the $15 it used to be but they had a lot of it. I also seen Winchester wildcat ammo which is what i cut my teeth on as a kid. cheapest i seen was cci blazer for $25-brick.

The Sandy Hook banic was the event that made me finally feel a little less guilty about being a hoarder. I had enough 22 ammo stored that I didn't have to buy any other than to buy new subsonic because I bought a silencer during that time. I still have some 22 ammo from the late 80's out in the garage somewhere.

Another fortunate event was that I had just started to get interested in 300 Blackout and back into bullet casting at that time. When I realized I could shoot Blackout cast reloads cheaper than new 22 it made the decision about which gun to take to the range easier.
