FINALLY got a 1911!

Its been an oversight for some time now. Been too busy acquiring rifles, maybe. But I had already got my Sig, and a CZ .40 cal for the wife. Been wanting a 1911 since....well, a long friggin time, anyway.

Today I got my wish.

Went to go put a rifle on consignment. Started looking at a used Springfield 1911A1 they had. It hasnt seen very bloody much use. Tried to do financing. Nope. Guess I should eventually pay off that damn credit card bill. Oh well. Maybe layaway? Nah, that give me only 30 days to pay it off. If the rifle didnt sell, I would have a choice between get the FAL kit I want, OR get the pistol. Gunshop guy mentions another option. Trade the rifle for the pistol and some cash. Woo hoo!

So now I've got my 1911, and most of the money I'll need for the FAL kit.

Life is good.

Hopefully I'll be able to get to the range sometime soon.

The problem is that they have a subtle way of takin' over...like that

Some gun collections simply aren't complete without one example of either a 1911, a Colt SAA, or a Ruger .22 auto. Of the three, I just have 1911's. Lots of 'em.

I'm still convinced that they reproduce. I've got a few here that I have
no memory of when or where I got'em. 'Course...the ol' memory banks

Multiple 1911A1 Colts. Don't know why my collection/arsenal (pick one) runs heavy to these pistols. There's always room for one more in my home for wayward Colt's famous autoloaders. Then again, I could always form my own banana republic. How do you think I'd look in a generalissimo's uniform?

Springfield milspec and Edbrown, you get a Kimber
Colt series 70 and a Heinie, you get a wilson
