Yesterday morning, I finally bought the rifle I had my eyes on for the last several months - a new Winchester M70 Extreme Weather, chambered in .270 Win. Also grabbed a Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40 to go with it; was lucky to to get both rifle and scope/mounts/rings for just over a grand.

Looking forward to taking it out later today to break her in. This has been a long time coming. :D

Weak cell phone pics only for now. Looking at pictures of other rifles quickly made me realize I'm no photographer, and these won't do this rifle justice. Oh well... :)

Congrats! Those Winchester EW are really nice. I have one of the new super grades in 30-06 and have been eyeing an EW in 270. Let us know how it shoots after you take it out.

I have gobs of respect for both the .270 Win cartridge and Winchester Model 70. Those make for a winning combination, IMHO.

Great looking rifle!

Congratulations bobson! I have 3 FN made m70's. Supergrade in 300 WM, featherweight in 270 win and extreme weather in 7mm-08. May I ask what you had to pay for yours?

The rifle was on sale for $799 at Sportsman's Warehouse; original price $999.

Very cool. I am hoping to get my Safari Express next month. Been saving for a while to get it.

Edit:
I will be going through Sportsman's Warehouse also. Ever since they got their act together they have become my go to shop in town for reloading supplies and just about anything gun or outdoor related.

You got a great price on it. Mine was a little under $1100 out the door. You're going to fall in love with it (and all Crf m70's) if you haven't already! I wish we still had sportsman's warehouse up here in Minnesota, they always seemed to have sales and even at their normal prices were still cheaper than Gander or cabelas for the most part.
