I got my first gun today. After months of very stressful debate I went ahead and bought a Walther PPS 9mm. I picked it up for 600 dollars which I hope was a good deal. I am very excited and eager to learn as much as possible about it. Even though I have my ccw I do not plan on carrying it for a couple months when I am more familiar, comfortable, and confident in my safe handling skills. I want to carry it iwb, so maybe you guys can give me some suggestions on holsters

Great idea to get more familiar with it before carrying it! I personally always recommend the HighNoon Bare Asset. It has a 15 degree cant, its cheap(but better and no wait time than more expensive holsters), and its very thin so it helps with concealment.

check with ranges and go to some pistol competitions. youll learn alot faster than just standing in a spot and shooting. I use my cz rami while (mostly) everyone else uses a 1911 of some kind. i dont score very well but it does help gun handling. lot more fun also.

Congratulations! Welcome to the wonderful world of addiction. What are you buying next? :neener:

+1 for doing (or at least observing) some competition. Nothing promotes growth (safety, skill, safety, speed, safety, confidence, safety) like competing against a clock with an RO standing over your shoulder.

Yeah from everyone I have talked to I gather guns are addicting to buy. The shop that I got it from told me they would see me next week, I asked for what? THey replied my next gun purchase. Im not sure what I want to buy next.

hehe... well.. honestly i would recommend a Taurus PT 1911 or a Walther P-22.. both are great values and I think every collection should include a 1911 and a p-22... 1911 speaks for itself and the p-22 is just too much fun and cheap to shoot and offers great practice without the typical (sissy) feel of a .22. lol... just my $.02

Excellent selection. A good .22 will do wonders for your shooting and save you $. 500 .22 and 200 9mm WWB makes for a great day at the range.

Enjoy it, learn to shoot it, and good luck finding ammo for it! You may also want to think about your next gun purchase. Perhaps a long arm?

I think you made a good choice on the PPS. It is an excellent carry gun. I also carry a 9mm PPS every single day. You might as well save yourself some time and money and get the best IWB right away.

The price is not too bad, at $70. The wait is about 5 months, but you said you wanted to wait a few months. For me the wait was painful, but now that I have it, it was well worth it. It is by far the most comfortable holster I've ever worn. Had it on all day a few days ago while helping my dad move, never bothered me at all. Nobody knew it was there under my jeans and t-shirt.

Congrats!!! Got my first handgun back in November. Since then I've bought six more. :what:

But I am not ashamed.

Now I'm looking to find a Ruger LCP and then I'll be done for awhile. Or so I say.

Congratulations
I'd say you did OK on price ... was it with one or two magazines?

I also have a PPS, I ordered a SuperTuck for it, I'll report on it when I get it.

Like Pcola said: the first gun I bought was less than a year ago, and 3 already joined it (with another on the way)

thanks for the input guys and the info on holsters. I am already planning my next gun I either want to get a 40 cal, or a revolver for ccw
