FINALLY - Plenty of .22

It's the people waiting in line for two hours in front of stores that sell ammo to BUY BUY BUY everything they have in stock before they can even be put on the shelves that are causing this mess in the first place.

I hope you know that.

Still waiting for Wolf or SK/Lapua match stuff at a good price. I want to jump on a case or two and be done with it but each time prices start inching down, a panic sets in. Right now a case of either is $800-1000 depending on how gouged you want to be.

It has literally been years now since I saw 22 ammo behind a store counter anywhere in my area.

My cache won't hold out another year with two trigger happy boys

Neither of the Wal-fart stores in this area have had any ammo during "normal" business hours (8-6) since November 2012.

Only a local sporting goods store has (occassionaly) had .22LR. Problem is they are pricing it at 3X the price of my old Winchester Wildcats. That's as high as I'm willing to go. Another regional chain has had various bulk packs for around $50-55. No Thanks!!

Retail is now between $540 and $590 a case. You won't find it cheaper than that in the future. I last bought SK in December at $58/brick and that was MSRP.

New Ammoland.com article.....

My friend sent me a Zite.com link to a media article posted on Ammoland.com(dated 06/08/2014).
The writer who has a shooting sports & instructor background, claims the bubble will burst soon & US small arms ammunition prices will "drop" drastically. :scrutiny:

I doubt most popular calibers like .22LR, .40S&W, .45acp, 9mm(9x19mm), .357sig, .38spl etc will be as cheap as the early 2000s or late 1990s.
Some ammunition boxes are back on gun shop shelves or retail websites but not in huge amounts.
A small LE & private security supply shop near me said they had 0 .45acp rounds. :uhoh:

Where are you finding it for those prices? Every place I've looked want $75+ for a brick plus shipping. I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

I was in one of my local walmarts the other day and there was not only lots and lots of ammo in 38, 9mm, 40, 45, most all rifle calibers, but SEVERAL choices of each including some hard to find pistol hollow points, but no .22lr...

I too have been reading about an alleged ammo glut soon to be upon us, hopefully the posts here are the beginning of it for .22lr.

Gluts & cuts....

I agree with Youtube.com personality; The Yankee Marshal & a few other online remarks that the large industry firms like ATK(Federal & Remington), Black Hills, Corbon, Winchester, etc will slowly filter these excess rounds into stores/retail sources. I highly doubt any gluts or huge stock-piles will show up any time soon in any major caliber.
The fact that new plants, logistics or staff(floor employees) are in these systems is good but as TYM has stated, a large firm isn't going to hire & train a worker only to lay them off 6mo-10mo from now.

Where?! Not at my Cabellas.
On a side note I read an interesting article today about ammo becoming the new currency. Items or services being paid for with ammo. Crazy. Democrats.....

I think it is kind of funny to watch people going crazy to find 22 ammo when it so much easier to find & shoot say 9MM Luger---
HAVE FUN,

THIS REMINDS ME OF MOTHER & DAD--NEVER TOOK A DRINK UNTIL

Why do you think most of my long and handguns are in 38/357mag ;-)

Lol I think I can load 38 cheaper than I can buy 22lr....or at least till my case of Tula primers runs out
