So how does everyone go about finding the real value of a firearm in today's market.

If you need something really bad (or think you do), you might inflate the value (noun), get enough people doing that and it makes estimating the “monetary worth (verb) side, depend on what side of the bubble you are on.

For example, bumpstocks were pretty flat for a long time, talk of a ban and the production couldn’t keep up, prices increased, until owning one would make you a Felon, then the value decreased, to zero (or less if you had one and needed a criminal defense attorney).
