Any thoughts on the best way to finish a nice Bishop stock for a sporter SC I'm building? I like a shiny Rem BDL style of finish. Don't worry, I'm not hacking a up a perfectly good SC, it was already sporterized but on a nice left handed mannlicher birdseye maple stock that I just put on ebay. It was a beautiful looking sporter but I'm right handed so I bought the Bishop blank and need to finish inletting and then put a nice finish on it.
What stains, oils, poly do people recommend? Or what stock finishing kits are out there that do nice jobs. Thanks for any input. I'll post pics once done since the deep bluing and jeweled bolt, williams sight, 22" bbl, etc. look good (for a "ruined" battle rifle ).
Thanks for all your help!!
