My AK HATED their .223 ammo, it seems like the casings (spent) would get stuck in the chamber while the AK continued on with the normal operation causing a FTE and a double feed.

A few of the rounds were good, but for now I'm sticking with American Eagle and things I've actually HEARD of. :)

So, whats with Fiocchi? Good record or what?

I saw some 9x18 Mak from them work well before the gun that fired it was later confiscated, so are they a "hit and miss" brand?

We've only had experience with thier .380's a few years. My wife put about 300-rds down range without a hitch to help break-in a pistol. I believe they generally have decent word-of-mouth too.

It's generally great ammo and is priced reasonably. Most of the pistol ammo I've shot from them is clean, and loaded fairly hot. I've not tried the rifle ammo to see if the same is true there. At the prices they get, most other brands of ammo are underloaded or really dirty or both.
Their shotgun shells are good too. Maybe your rifle just doesn't like it, or you could've bought a bad batch. There's always that box that slips past QC in anything that is mass-produced.

Fiochhi Ammo Ok

I have used FIOCHHI ammo in 9 mm and .45ACP with good results. The hollowpoint .45ACP loads would not feed through an old COLT 70 series that did not have a ramp job, but most hollowpoints would not.

I just used their 9mm hollowpoints at the range and they shot well in my BERETTA 92.

It's the best quality bulk-ordered ammo I've ever shot. I use it for all my pistols. That's really odd.

What type of AK do you have?

Arctic,
I just put 2 boxes of Fiocchi 55 gr. 223 thru my AR without a hitch. I've also used their handgun ammo, with good results.
Maybe your extractor needs a closer look.

If it was more available in my area, I'd buy it exclusively for practice ammo instead of Monarch. Very nice ammo, noticeably hotter than most "cheap" stuff. Shoots and hits just like the more premier ammo I normally keep loaded...

I have got a 10/22 that absolutely loves their silhouette ammo. The groups are half the size of anything else. Thank god I got a deal and got over 4K rounds of the stuff. Never any problems.

We sell most of the popular calibers including 223 . Our employees shoot it as well . No complaints . In my experience , Fiocchi is a good company to deal with . Good people .

a buddy and i split a case of fiochi 9mm 20+ years ago . they shot fine then, and a box from that same load shot fine a month ago.

might have an extractor problem... i dont like the sounds of that, and I do NOT intend on sending it back to Century for a goony repair job.

My AK is a Romanian WASR-3, it loves to fire Wolf, American Eagle, (old) 3-D "Police Cardridges", and surplus 5.56x45 but it seems to hate this stuff... I only bought one box, but I'm not set on buying another box to test the bad batch theory :p

So they seem like an OK brand, I am thinking about getting an AR around the good ol' Dividend time :D, so Fiocchi seems like an acceptable brand for what i might get :)

thanks for the replies ;)
